Alright, random notes and information:
These are the Kiion. As a general rule, the Kiion are... strange. Whether it be talking to flowers, talking to atoms, understanding the "zen" of raves, or anything else you can think of, there's probably a Kiion out there who specializes in it. Not that they're ever
purposefully malicious, even at their craziest, but some of them just don't... understand... why other races don't like them doing some things. That's not to say that there aren't normal seeming Kiion out there, they're just in a bit of the minority.
As for their will-based powers, they're really more of a manifestation of personality, rather than set powers, and thereby don't follow family lines in the slightest. Technically, they can do anything they like, and often do play around with many things as a child. When they become an adult and find their specialization, though, they tend to drop all abilities but those related to that specialization. For example: One with a specialization of flowers would be able to make them bloom, survive, or attack people, things like that.
An easy way to think about is that their personality is so strong, so focused on one specific thing, that they can just
make things happen. No wonder they're considered crazy.
Neat trivia: Right before the eggs hatch, the shells turn a blue-transparent color, like water, and are cool to the touch despite any nearby sources of heat. When this happens, there's only about a day or two before the hatchlings break the shells. The actual hatching itself is a bit odd, in that as soon as the first hole appears in the shell, it will begin melting like ice, leaving the hatchling to tumble out into a puddle of "water". The mother will then lick the hatchling dry. Unlike other draconic races, the Kiion are not immediately capable of standing, but must rest for ten to twenty minutes before they can rise and move about, and even then they're unsteady on their feet for an hour or so (like lambs or horses). While they can bond, they rarely do, mostly because many Kiion mothers get very, very protective of their children, and refuse to let strangers see their babies.
Hatchlings are born "colorless" (rather, born with a lack of pigmentation, thus not even their markings are present at birth, and they tend to glitter like crystal) and featherless. As they grow, color beings to show up on them, starting around the muzzle, wing nodes, and paws and spreading from there. It can take four to five years for a Kiion to reach adulthood, and even then they aren't considered mature by their race for another five to six years.
When I finally get info-pages up, there'll be a complete writeup, but for now that should be enough.
