I went with the big-cat patterns back when I created the race, because it was easier for me to find pattern examples of all of those than for house-cat colors.Dray wrote: Classic Tabby as a pattern is a gorgeous feline pattern, but it doesn't look like the Ale's have that one!
Though I suppose I could start introducing 'little cats'. Maybe an offshoot small variant of Lian size? Though unless I'm mistaken, the only colorations that would really change would be the feline colors, because I don't think ponies have different colorations than horsies.

So these are, obviously, going to come out a little later than I said. Why?
Because StarFyre got games for Christmas. Fun games.
Like Suikoden 1 and Suikoden 2. Like Divinity 2: Ego Draconis. Like Dragon Age: Origins.
*scuffs foot* And StarFyre is very, very guilty of losing track of time while playing games. So uhm, sorry. =P Games >>> My Life.

Hehe, everyone I know has that. And has vanished for a time, with it. lol

We have the collector's edition >.>;;
But I've been playing Ego Draconis more -- you get to fly around as a dragon, sure, why not =P
The start is a bit funny: You've been training a long time as a Dragon Slayer, and have just now completed both the training and the initiation to be one. Oh, hey, we're supposed to ship you off to go through some more rituals in order to control those dragon memories we just shoved in your head, so you don't go stark raving mad, but, uh... the last Dragon Knight has be spotted! Praise the Divine! Lets go kill it!
After a bunch of tradition rpg "Helping the Villagers" while your teammates tell you you're a liability to them because of how recently you just got the memories (supposedly making you vulnerable to dragon mindcontrol, or whatnot), you follow (secretly) into the area where the Knight had been spotted... and run into the dying Knight. Who curses you.
Goodbye Slayer, hello Knight. Now you are the last known Dragon Knight of the land! ... and have the voice of a rather snippy, dry humor Knight in your head (being that the one who cursed you basically hopped along for the ride, to "guide" you, and otherwise make dry or sarcastic comments about things you do).
Eventually (it's actually supposed to be almost immediately afterwards, but, y'know how rpgs go...) you run into the other members of the Slayer team. When your superior goes "What are you doing here?! I told you to stay put!" one of your options is "I ran out of things to do for the villagers." =P

Do you get to lay waste to said village? Because that would rule.

I don't know if you get to lay waste to countrysides and cities. I mean, supposedly, you're supposed to be saving all these fools (so I'm pretty sure this village gets toasted by Damian right after I finish the part I'm in right now, which is summoning a demon and killing it, and through it, Laikan the necromancer, in order to get ahold of the soon-to-be-MINE Battle Tower).
One of the more amusing tips you get handed in the load screens is, "If you see a man named Damian, run."
In the long run, most story choices you make don't make too much of a difference, but people start treating you a bit different depending on what you do. And you can choose to do things like side with bandits and do highway robberies (much to the dismay of miss voice in your head, who tartly says that stooping so low isn't exactly becoming of Slayers OR Knights). Or blackmail people, get loot rewards for it, then go turn them in to the authorities anyway.
And you get the ability to mindread people. I mean, you get a real mixed bag of information -- sometimes you get skill or stat points to spend, sometimes you find out peoples' secret passwords to their storage cellars, sometimes you find quests, sometimes you find where people hid gold or whatnot, and sometimes its just mindless gossip. I'm not sure Slayers originally intended you to use mindreading to get passwords and steal people blind =P AND, usually, if you mindread merchants, their prices will lower.
EDIT: Actually, I will say this: other load screen hints say things like "Remember, dragons aren't invincible. Watch out for human defenses!" So I'm going to guess you can get into serious trouble with cities and whatnot =P

Suikoden <3! I finally managed to track down #2 for playstation, so as soon as I get the DS game (for the DS I got for christmas) I'll have the whole series. :3
...I still haven't beaten it, though. (Stupid Clyde) ^^;
That Ego Draconis game sounds interesting, I'll have to check that out.
And Happy New Year!

S2 is still the only one I haven't beaten, too =P Seeing as I've emulated both 1 and 2 before managing to get the actual physical copies.Kitsuneko wrote:Suikoden <3! Tierkries isn't in the same 'universe' as S1-5, and you don't deal with runes. It's a pretty good game, all told, but it's distinctly different from the others. Overall, the general response isn't the overwhelming 'meh' to 'ohgodskillit' that S4 evoked, but it is a love-it-or-hate-it game, for the most part. (The monsters are cute in Tierkries, btw. Socute...)
