Bandwagon Hopping, ho! - Ice Elementals posted!

Post by Cy »

I know I'm doing custom images for the Winter Gather, but I figured I'd take this present-giving season opportunity to offer people a chance to nab a dragon they don't have from me.

Templates are as follows:
Archaegon
Eastern Nazo Type 1
Eastern Nazo Type 2
Gem Dragon
Ice Elemental 1 or 2
Ice Runner
Kegawa
Zuruihebi

You can choose to have up to 3 each.

Form:
Your name:
Preferred Color schemes:
Archaegon:
Eastern Nazo 1:
Eastern Nazo 2:
Gem Dragon:
Ice Elemental:
Ice Runner:
Kegawa:
Zuruihebi:
As an added bonus, do you want any Zalors with your purchase?:

I'll close the forms Christmas Day, and the images will [hopefully] go out around New Years, as I plan on re-doing a couple of the templates to be up-to-date with my styles :]

Alright Nexiians, the templates are drawn up and I've started the coloring process. I'll be sending these out in batches according to template, though it will be with time allowing. Just figured I'd let the excitement soak in now :P

Unfortunately, this is going to take a little longer than expected. As I said, I received a new laptop for Christmas. Got all my files and programs transferred, and then went to hook up my iPod to listen to, and BAM, Blue Screen of Deeeaaath.

So I figured fine. I'll deal with that later. So I hook up my digital camera to get some line-art off of it. BAM. Blue Screen of Death.

So I start the process of making sure all the drivers and such are up to date [the Blue Screen indicated BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER as the problem]

Everything's up to date. It's a brand new Dell laptop with Windows 7. And it's not bad USB ports, because my generic mouse can hook up and work with no problem. It seems to have a problem with anything that requires Auto Run to install crap for the item to work.

So I've spent the last few days trolling Microsoft Windows 7 forums, and Dell forums, trying to find a solution, as I'd rather not have to return a computer I just finished transferring everything on to.

I made the attempt at calling Dell support, only to reach an outsource person in India or something, who could barely speak English, and I asked to be transferred to someone I could understand more clearly. Went through 4 transfers getting the same result - What part of "I'd like to speak to someone who speaks English as their FIRST language" is hard to understand? Not that I said it like that, but still.

So I figured I'd just investigate as far as I could myself. Downloaded the Windows Debugger to analyze the crash dumps ["probably caused by usbehci.sys, which is completely up to date], uploaded the crash dumps and memory dumps for the Microsoft forum people to help with. I'm now to the point that they're having me delete and create new registry keys, and have apparently had my case passed on discussed with "top company peoples" because it's "such a unique problem they've never stumbled across" etc.

So after much *headdesk*ing, and a lot of colorful language, I am /still/ making attempts at getting this solved, because the problem also means no tablet.

So I do apologize. And I apologize for the rant/information dump. I will get on this give-away as soon as I figure this crap out.

You may just be better off shipping it back to Dell in terms of wasted time. I sent them my laptop post-warranty and they replaced just about everything except the screen and had it back to me within a week. That doesn't make it suck any less, though. :(

<.< Just make sure to never get a recent HP. I've now seen about four of them, all different models, die just outside of the warranty period, in a relatively unfixable way (heat causes some solder to come undone and pops some components loose). And HP refuses to acknowledge this problem.

I'm knocking on wood with my Pavilion. It's not tremendously new, but still only a couple years old. I all but threw my hp printer off the roof though, god I can't stand their printers...

I've been hearing that there are some odd install problems with windows 7, but they're reasonably minor. Nothing blue-screeny, so hopefully this'll get resolved!

I think you're good, then. If it's lasted for 2+ years, then the defect either doesn't exist in yours or is so slow acting that it'll probably die of other causes first.

Basically, the processor in the machine gets so hot that it melts the solder on parts around it. The only way to delay it (because it can't be prevented without taking the machine apart and making modifications) is to make sure the machine stays as cold as possible. But 2 years is the longest I've seen a machine last that had that defect.

And really, the worst affected are HP laptops. Desktops have a bit easier time of it, because they have more airflow than laptops do.

Alrighty, first up - Archaeogons!

Images can be found here: http://s294.photobucket.com/albums/mm12 ... 0GiveAway/
And follow the information for them here: http://planet-holic.lostmysanity.net/Ho ... onInfo.htm

You can make these either gender, despite all of them being brightly colored. If your Archaeogon has a name after yours, that is what I considered the 'color', because of what it reminded me of. Abilities, you can pick and choose from the abilities list, and even make up some specific abilities if you desire [for example, instead of "weather based" you could go with "summons thunderstorms" or something.]

Enjoy :]

Aaaand Zuruihebi!

Images: http://s294.photobucket.com/albums/mm12 ... 0GiveAway/
Information: http://planet-holic.lostmysanity.net/Ho ... biInfo.htm

Remember that when it comes to Elemental powers, their body color represents their strongest element. The color of their gems is a sub-type.

For people like Jkat, who got a gold, their base power is going to be metal-esque, with metal shaping, or being able to coat their bodies in metal being possible powers.

With the line tool, for the straight lines, and my mouse for the curvy ones. Then added an outer glow to them. Pretty simple ^_^

I copied the first wing onto a new layer, and used the skew option to play with it a bit to get the perspective look.
