At once several xenoplanthydras had removed themselves from their egg casings, which caused a good degree of eerily glowing confusion, as the jumbled babies tried to make sense of their surroundings. It wasn't all that diffcult, but for the fact that they all seemed to get in each other's way, as they made their way across to the onlookers. Two in particular fussed with each other, stumbling into each other's legs as they tried to make their way to the same candidate. Neptuss seemed to be the center of both of their attentions, and by the time the two xenospawn had reached him, the only thing that kept them from snapping angrily at each other was their fascination with their new bond.
In a hot expanse of desert miles away from any akhet-based civilization, another planthydra had spawned a clutch, though this one much different then any other. Half-burried in the sand, the seed-shaped eggs had burst into flame shortly after being laid, and had continued burning without suffering harm until now, when it had come time for them to hatch.
They did not so much hatch as explode, releasing small pups into the sand. Two more exploded shortly after the first, causing the firstborn pup-- a little purple-- to squeak in fright and propel itself directly into one of the onlookers. He squeaked again at this, and looked abashed, hoping the flames on his back hadn't burned Cyron. Apologetically, his two heads nuzzled the larger dragon, whom he had chosen as his sponsor.
Curious, one of the other two hatchlings followed the first. She was brightly speckled blue, so vibrant she was almost blinding. It only took her a moment of observing to decide she wanted the same thing as her brother, so she stumbled towards cyron as well, and followed the firstborn's example of leg-nuzzling. Now cyron had two flaming plantcharges to look after.

I'm so sad I missed this, @DNS! I was falling hard off of dragoning at the time but I ADORE what you did with Taursius' spawn! If you ever come back and want to make some more (and still have the template, etc. etc.) I would adore one of his.
