Help Plz? x.x

Post by Unyko »

Dude. For serious. HELP. x.x

Okay, so some of you know I'm working for this lady on a site she's wanting to put together for her dress line. I have been working on this for a year. The woman won't stop giving me things to do. Basically for free, because apparently in her eyes, I have not yet fulfilled my end of out contract. But then, I had no idea the woman wanted PERFECTION when I entered into said contract. @.@ I need out. So I'm trying to find her a nice, simple html editing program so she can update her own darn pages. The basic framework is already there. Actually, the thing is close to perfection now. All she is asking for now is the most simple of edits. Five times over. Single words, single -letter- edits. She's asking for lowercase instead of uppercase, people. I NEED OUT. *DIE*

Alternately (if I can find anyone willing to put up with her nonsense for some spare change), I'd like to find someone to pick up where I left off, because I'd rather not let this baby fall into the wrong hands (namely hers). But if that's the only way I can be free, then I'll gladly throw it at her in a last ditch attempt at distraction while I escape to Pennsylvania. >.>;

I'm not gonna beg anyone here for the latter (I wouldn't wish her on anyone I liked >.>), but do you guys know of an online html editor I can shove at her? I tried geocities' sitebuilder thing, but I can't even get to their main page now, and neither can she. So that shoots that one in the foot.

She's getting antsy (I gave her incredibly detailed instructions on using sitebuilder at least three months ago, and she chooses -now- to get impatient with -me- *FACEPALM*) and I need something to tell her.

So. Can anyone point me towards a nice, easy editor? Preferably one that's free? >.>;; (She's cheap, too. *totally not asking anyone here to take on this thankless job*)

Please?

I'm not sure about it being the easiest, but Amaya has never steered me wrong. Best free editor I've ever used.

http://www.w3.org/Amaya/

I'd excitedly point out that it was developed by W3C and it's still being hosted by them, and it's open source while still being supported and updated (*stabs Nvu with a diamond-tipped spork*), but I think I lose some "nice and easy" points there. *blushes*

And good luck regaining some of your sanity there. Sounds like a crazy-demanding woman.

<3 Yeah, she needs something super!simple. I was afraid that sitebuilder would be too difficult for her. >.>; That's how easy it need to be. (At the moment, I'm fairly sure she doesn't know the difference between a .txt and a .htm file. *small facepalm*) Much love for the link, though. :)

And yes. She is driving me Insane.

D: Good luck on getting out... I can't offer any solutions, only condolences at this point. People like that make me want to become a hired assassin. XD

Personally, I'd take down the site and ask for payment before continuing to bust my bum working for this woman. >_> It's obvious you did a fair amount of work, and she hasn't paid you?
Still gaming? Take a look at Atonement RPI.

Dray: *SNRK* Hmm, I hadn't considered that option.. X3

Sil: I'm horribly tempted to do that. x.x But she has given me one token payment, though it wasn't anywhere near what was agreed on. Honestly, I don't even care if I get paid at this point. I just want OUT. *falloverdie*

With these kind of people, it's -more- important to demand payment. :\ They need to learn that they can't treat the people that they hire in this way.

Then just tell her since she hasn't paid you what you asked for in the first place, she's on her own and don't bother with it any further. You did a beautiful job on it, if she's gonna be that picky you should be far more picky about payment.

Do up an estimate of how much you've actually worked on it, per hour, and figure out your payment for any normal, sane entity. Present it as a work order, see what she does.

I'd just abandon it, myself. Not worth the effort, but seriously, you've done the work, you deserve the payment.

Yeah, I know I should demand and stuff, but I'm just no good at being forceful. *point out how many of the dragons from VotS are unpaged and still not abandoned after a year or more, as one example of this* ^.^; Besides, I know she'll pay me, sooner or later. *shrug* And it's not that she's -purposefully- driving me mad. She's just.. one of those people that doesn't realize how they treat other people. >.>; Or something. *'nother shrug* I'm leaving in a couple weeks, so one way or another, I'm free. I just wanted to get her -something- so that she doesn't inadvertently ruin the site and then put my name on it. >.>...... Because she would.
