Welcome to Didra Gon Super Special Weekly!

Hello, fellow Nexiians! As you may know, the Nexus is a conduit of worlds and realms, ripe with curious new critters for the finding and collecting! While on a sabbatical out into the further Nexus reaches, I managed to find some very strange creatures indeed.

Didra Gons. Nobody's exactly sure what they are, or what they mean to the Nexus... but that is where you come in, I hope! Would you care to help me in studying these fascinating creatures, gathering field notes, and learning more about how they work?

I thought you would! Read on below and together we can discover more about these curious creatures!

Earning Extra Tics

Template Redraws!
If you're an artist and would like to contribute to the images given away in the Didra Gon game, you may earn extra tics and treats along the way. Five critters of each template are given away before that template is retired, so the turn over in Tier 1 is pretty quick.

Below is a list of Tier 1 creatures that need redrawing, how many of each template there are left to go before a new template is needed, and which artists have claimed dibs. If an artist doesn't have an image done and the turnover is getting close, I may prod 'em and/or pass the rights on to someone else who's interested t ensure that a new template gets done in time! If there is no 'taken by' sign, just PM me or post in this thread to let me know that you're interested. Prizes and terms of use are below.

Astilbody (Flora) - Zero images left before changeover
Eloinktric (Electric) - Zero images left before changeover (Tentatively taken by the Feline)
Foxxic (Fauna) - Zero images left before changeover (Tentatively taken by Starfyre)
Bufobufo (Rock) - Two images left before changeover
Incohat (Spirit) - Two images left before changeover
Farwin (Water) - Four images left before changeover
Fleurdefree (Air) - Six images left before changeover
Ingotuatara (Metal) - Six images left before changeover
Flarefy (Fire) - Eight images left before changeover

Format
A .psd shaded image with a flat-color layer that can be changed from critter to critter. Dimensions for Tier 1 are generally between 250 and 300 pixels -- use an earlier template as an example for each creature. (Individual images will eventually be saved as .png's.)
--Incohat and all spirit based critters need to be semi-transparent, or at least semi-transparent around their extremities and the less-thick portions of their body. However you'd like to go about doing this is up to you, so long as all colour-layers are able to be quickly changed to create new individuals!)

Rewards for Tier 1 Creatures
Three Custom Elemental Tics - Can be added to any creature you own, in any element.
Two Custom Moral Tics - Can be added to any creature you own, in either Good or Wicked.
Single-Use Crystal Ball - Learn exactly how many tics one of your creatures has and in what elements.

Terms of Agreement
I use the template that you draw for five creatures before retiring it, and will credit you for their use in the appropriate image database. If you want me to also link your name to an art gallery or adoption center, just let me know. You have rights to the picture, but please don't use the creatures as if they were your own creation, or distribute copies of the image as Didra Gons or something similar.

*coruscates with glee* Hooray! :D While nobody was looking, eggs 1 thru 3 seemed to shake and hatch! Got any names for these little guys?

It would appear that the hatchlings all look alike apart from their colouration, and their colouration doesn't necessarily seem to match the eggs they hatch from! Hmmm, very interesting... that doesn't necessarily match the field notes on the more mature species..........

Oh, I'm sorry, sometimes I like to think aloud. Thank you, SHARD, JKAT, and HOUKA for volunteering your time to take care of these little scamps! They're sleeping most of the day, now, but feel free to come in and check them from time to time; they should be ready for more information next Friday!

((X3 And for those of you who don't know: I'm on a pokemons kick lately. Didra Gons are a sort of knock off, presented every Friday. Three eggs will be given away at a time, and questionnaires will be given out to Didra Gon owners to fill out to ensure their critter is doing well. The answers will give will sometimes affect your creatures in strange ways!

And don't worry about paging these guys. :3 You -can- if you want to, and you can use them around the Nexus in writing if you want to, but I'm going to host all of the images here for now; you can just let 'em sit and show up every Friday for more input and info!))

Question, if we do page them, where do we link to? And do they have to be with an owner/partner or can they be by themselves with other didra gons?

XD Isn't Midori a username of one of the people around the Nexus?

If you page your Didra Gon, please link back to this thread, as it will be the primary adoption spot of these creatures.

At the moment your Didra Gons are very young and need to be kept an eye on: during their first week especially, Didra Gons need TLC! In the next few weeks, your Didra Gon will (we hope!) grow stronger and more independent, but for now, think of them as wee little babies.

That it is, but it's also Japanese for "green", so it rather fits that little blighter. ;)

Phe is correct, Midori is Japanese for green. ^_^
And yes, they do look like No Face but at least my Midori is way cuter than No Face.

*Goes to make sure that Midori is sleeping comfortably in her little nest of blankets and pillows.*
*Makes sure that she has lots of fresh clean water and plenty of food for when she wakes up while I am away.*

Oh and Dray, you know your post where the eggs hatch into babies? Well, Shard has a red egg instead of a blue egg and yet it hatched into a blue baby and JKat has a blue egg instead of a red egg and yet it hatched into a red baby. Just thought I should point that out.

XD Houka, read the entire post next time; it will be very important not to skim later on in this 'game', where answering questions carefully will yield different results than answering 'em willy nilly!

(And once per week new actual content will be added. ^_^ All of the other days I'm working on new templates and quizzes and info so that I'll be ready when things start to happen! >:3)

Yes, I know that, but, what I'm trying to point out is that Shard got the Red egg when JKat was the one that asked for the Red egg.

So, in the post where the eggs hatched, Shard who asked for the Blue Egg got the Red Egg instead and vice versa for JKat.

So, if you take that little error into account, Shard in fact has a Red Baby who hatched from a Blue Egg, while JKat has a Blue Baby who hatched from a Red Egg.

Am I making myself any clearer? If not, then here's a visual instead.

I don't believe that the color picked means which egg they got. Otherwise why would Terry have offered all those other colors? She did say pick one of the "following colors", not "eggs".

Hmm, yeah you are probably right. Meh, now I'm confused.

Dray, when you asked for color, did you mean the color of the egg or the resulting baby? Because I had thought that when you meant color, you meant the color of the available eggs at the time. @.@

I meant 'pick one of the following colours as listed below' rather than 'pick the colour of the egg you want'. Sorry for the mixup! (Actually, the egg colours were done on a whim: 'RGB' for Red, Green and Blue. XD)

Don't worry, there will be chances to get other Didra Gons in the future if you're not satisfied with your Greeny! :3

XD *cackles and pats Mookey* One day he will... hopefully!

As for genders (Sidenote): All Didra Gons are gender-ambiguous, but for the purposes of eventual breeding into the Nexus (if anybody ever wants to), they're all considered male. >.> As in, they won't be able to breed with male dragons/critters. XD It's probably going to be a while before there are any Didra Gons of age to breed, though. :3 They have a few steps to go before reaching maturity.

Just kidding. Hmm... Midori is just a very feminine little baby so don't hold that against him. It's not his fault that he likes seeing red and pink colors in his nest. *sigh*

We're really not sure who's male and female at this point! O.o' It's like you turn around and suddenly there's an egg so.... feel free to call Midori a 'she' if you like! She'll just only breed with other Nexus-she's when she's old enough, if you're ever inclined to enter it into a flight!

More info will be posted tomorrow, along with a second chance for people to adopt eggs.

Haha, so this is a "first generaton" Pokemon kick, eh? X3 Lord knows the games got way more complicated with genders and such as the generations went on! XD ::plays a little of the 4th-Gen Diamond now and then as of late and is often overwhelmed by the new things that get added each generation::

Though they aren't much into solids at the moment, it appears that Didra Gons are omnivorous.... they seem to like to eat whatever they can get their paws on.
