Okay, it's been eons since I've been part of this community...but I am happy to say that...
I'm back! And, Calyeni Caverns will be opening again soon, on a different domain. (lost the other one due to them wanting $100 for the next year...crazy domain hoster...)
I see some very familiar faces still out there! *wave* And I finally got internet back after going about 2 years without it.
I think I left you all hanging on a very thrilling plot line including some very ebil dragons (are the few of Malevolenth's brood that I gave out still out there somewhere?) and some mortal peril...hopefully I still have it hanging around on my hard drive so I can pick up where I left off...
*waves* Hi! Welcome back to the insanity that is us.
Don't know if you remember me -- I think I vaguely remember you, so I probably started getting relatively active around the time you were starting to vanish
Hey, I'm glad you managed to find us again! I noted your name as the newest registered user, and I was REALLY hoping that meant Calyeni might be coming back, and it is!
Rough ETA on when we might see the site back online, or which domain name to look for? =)
Ah, and some advice that was given to me when I lost access to two hard drives and at least 4 years worth of stories. Don't be afraid to start fresh or write a variation of what you remember if you've lost access to your old material. Doesn't need to be perfect or "canon" just so long as it's yours.
You know, thinking about it, might be good to actually follow his advice myself. XD
It's hard to say when...I have a 5 month old daughter, so spare time is still limited. But she loves watching me type, so it could be sooner than expected.
I found most of Calyeni's old pages, so I'm just doing some dusting and link cleanup before the core site goes up. I'm in the process of getting a domain, so when it's set up, I'll post it for everyone.
As for the stories and whatnot...most of what I've found is stat pages and images, so I'll start from there and update when I find more, heh. No use crying over lost files. ::shrug::
Yay! I love it when old faces pop up again. Happy to see Calyeni's coming back too!
Darkling Dawn: Fauna Frenzy Open to candidates; flights open to males/females; rukel eggs/breedings available. Drockh-Tallahn Castle: 3 eggs, 2 available. Females and males needed. Sgiath Wolfkeep: 7 pups available Sedona Weyr: 12 eggs, Deadline March 8. Chasers and a female needed.
In my defense....this was written back in early '04, so it was all destined to happen anyway. BUT...you'll probably like who takes their places even better.
