How about if you two are able to get a stats sheet or a story done by that point, I'll do some shuffling? If you can't or don't want to, I would prefer to know ASAP so I can open the slot to somebody who still wants in!

I can definitely get a stats sheet up by Saturday! Maybe even a short story...we'll see if I can come up with an interesting enough plot to write a story for my applicant! XD

That fluffy thing is maybe going to be one of the next white clutch after the current one goes out on the 30th. >.>" So probably a month and a half from now? XD I'm getting ahead of myself with clutches to give away.

Application deadline is three weeks, or by April 3rd.
There's the toss-up of sending a high-ranking form to ensure you get the low-ranker that you want, and at the same time hogging all of the low-ranking spots so people who send the appropriate form in get nothing at all. D: Please send what's appropriate. One of these days I'll be better able to gauge which ones will be more popular and try to make them worth more effort to balance things out! XD
In the meantime, I'm not sure what else to say! (Unless I take the different-ranked application forms away altogether so that everybody's on the same playing field. XD But that's kind of boring...)

Well it really is an issue for me because I like to write first, and earn what I get - The way it's looking right now, there are two who I might try for, only one of which requires a story while the other doesn't require anything. I'd be devoting the same energy to writing my page for this critter either way because they fit my needs on the page, rather than the page fitting the needs of the critter, ..... do you see what I mean? For me it's not an issue of just sending a link and waiting it out, but that's just me. .... Now I have to actually finish the *artwork* for that character's page, ... oi....

Well yeah, you have opposite needs because you're the one doing the adopting; for me it's making sure that the right dragon goes with the right character... And right now that's not working. XD When ranks are not as simple as 'gold = queen, green = lowest' it gets tricky to label offspring as one ranking over another. :\ There are some babies in this red clutch that I wanted to rank higher or lower because I want to make sure that they get properly earned (I hate seeing my favorites go to people who didn't put any effort in to get them!) but I'm trying to look objectively at rarities instead of what's purdy.

For these guys, fire's the most rare, double-patterns are more rare than single ones... the base colours themselves are kind of hooped for rank save that red is more common. XD The personalities are (and always have been) considered guidelines more than set-in-stone variables, so I don't base ranks off of them. I haven't really come across abilities with ranks attached yet (Misvie kind of has 'em, but since the levels were botched in the Fur & Feathers, I wanted to leave them be) or I'd probably take them into consideration with which baby's ranked higher.

You could always run a quick poll to gauge interest before the clutch actually opens...? Like, put up the preview page, and have people vote for which one they would most like (you can note on the page or in the poll which ones have the rarer traits, since that really should play a role in how much effort is put into getting them), and then mark them as more or less effort depending on the number of votes they collect? *shrug* Just a thought. ^.^;

Yeah - it's complicated. When I look down the list, what *I* am looking for first off is personality, then powers, then coloration.

Of course, I think I might be a huge exception to the whole thing anyway, because I have *about 200 unused characters* still waiting in the wings and am looking to fill THOSE spots before just randomly finding out which dragons I've got.

For these specific ones, they have "singing" involved, which allows me to complete my "set" for the Solos - a group of intergalactic/weirdspace musicians. But their colors aren't that important, and in this case their powers are just icing.

Ummm... either way, actually. XD Now that I have a flagging system set up for BWR stuff, I shouldn't lose emails anymore, but sometimes I take a while to get to nexus-posted stuff (like Zageth's adults) because I read 'em while at work and then forget about 'em.
