Oh man today was so long and it was so hard to distract myself my brain would keep going "FIRELINGS!" and I'd go "AUGH WHAT TIME IS IT" and I was miserable and I had customer havoc and and and and FIRELING! ::rolls around::

Must stooorrrrrreeeeee! Even if my foreseeable storyblah won't go anywhere near growing-up time. MUST TAKE TO WORK AND STORY.

omg today was such a pain to get through I was refreshing the page obsessively before I had to leave HOPING BEYOND ALL HOPE that it would come back at even the last minute and I swear I would have sped all the way home if I weren't afraid of going faster than 40 mph and and and ::GAAAASP::

Question: Maybe I missed it somewhere, but how do we tell what chemical their flames are based on? In the info, it says they have to have that in their diet to maintain the flames, but it only list aluminum as an example... and I suck at chemistry XD

:D I got sneaky with the names. You might have to do a bit of research.

Here's some hints:

Alumine will enjoy volcanic mud, and certain cutlery used by Napoleon III's higher-ups.
Caesius will be eating a lot of rock, and would love to visit Manitoba's Bernic Lake.
Epsom will nibble on talc and discarded pop cans (though ew, they've got so much aluminum to them), and wash it all down with sea water.
Na will have to rely on impure sources, as his chemical in pure form + water = BOOM. He will, however, love really salty foods and soap.
Natron will get the munchies for fiberglass, certain bleaches, and insecticides.
Calx with love cements and mortars, and will probably eat her baby teeth when they fall out!
Sunart will gobble down fireworks and certain components used during and after bone surgery, and will never suffer from osteoperosis! You'd almost think he was eating calcium -- but he's not.
Alqaliy will make a meal of fertilizers, saltpeter, potash, and good growing soil.
Chalkos and Cyprium should both be kept away from computers, because they'll love eating wire and circuit boards, and may be a danger to plumbing everywhere. They'll never want for snackies.

Well, my other two options I found on red flames when I "decided" Sunart eats calcium (I thought it was up to us XD) are lithium and strontium. Further reseach tells me both are in fireworks, but lithium gets me results about CAUSING osteoporosis, whereas strontium compounds both prevent and treat.

So I guess the name is "Sun Art" in ref to fireworks?

So much for milk silliness. X3 Looks like I'll be feeding him road flares instead. (Egads.)

But you're wrong about where I got the name. ;) As told by Wikipedia: Strontian is the main village in Sunart, an area in western Lochaber, Highland, Scotland, on the A861 road. It lies on the north shore of Loch Sunart, close to the head of the loch. In the hills to the north of Strontian was discovered the mineral strontianite, from which the element strontium was first isolated.
