Feedback is obvioulsly being stupid so I'm changing my forms - but don't know how to get them to work without Feedback. If found a site that is suppose to tell you how to make them with php...(whatever it is), but my form isn't working.
Can I see the code, if you've tried to write it? It might be something as simple as a missed ; or it might be something as complicated as a statement or more mixed up/written incorrectly/whatever. Without the code its hard to say.
<html><body>
Something, I think.......
</body></html>
When I tried using the basic code from the site, the php page didn't show up right either...If the original didn't work, then I know the tweeked version for my page wouldn't work.
I'll work on this as soon as I finish the other stuff that needs to be done (programming homework, mainly, though I have to help my mom with a paper for her classes as well)
If someone else can give you a solution faster than I can, more power to you guys *grins* Like with all things HTML and pagebuilding, I'm still learning, so I might not be as fast as I could be.
Is this a form on your new site? Because they have an explanation of an easy-easy way to set up email forms. That's how I set up the forms for kilandaia and Shard's elf form...
If you need an explanation on how to do it I can tell you but e-starr has it right there in the cpanel...it's cgimail or something like that...
Do they? I didn't know they did that. I'll look at that later. I'm not use to this domain thing...need to check out the other options, too, though I know I won't be creating a chat room.
Heh, yeah...there's other things other than chat rooms...you can actually set up a board just like this one as well...and probably a ton of other stuff that I just haven't explored yet... XD
Let me know if you need help with your cgimail forms...
Speaking of chatrooms, this may seem completely out of the blue, but does anybody know where to get a half decent chat-room set up for a bunch of 14-year-old zombie-fanatic boys? XD I joined a Resident Evil RP and they're wondering about setting one up.
Should I put up my new form html, Xalia? I was wondering if you'd gotten around to figuring out what to do with it, but I haven't actually put that new one up yet. ?? *confuzzled*
*glowers* Okay, Xalia. I give up trying this on my own. I went to the CPanel page for my site, clicked on the form thing and came to a dead end. I clicked the link on that page but I got a page that said something about the adminastrator not allowing that script or something like that. Is that something I did when setting everything up in the beginning or me just being stupid? =(
It should let you create cgimail forms...everything was just there for me when I went to create everything... O.o Can you maybe take screenshots of where you're going so I can see what's going on?
Ok...I go to my CPanel and click FormMail Clone - the only thing I can find that appears to to with forms. Then I get a page that says this:
FormMail Clone is clone of Matt Wright's FormMail under a less restrictive liscense. It should behave almost exactly as FormMail.cgi, but it is completely written from scratch so there might be a few minor visual differences.
The documentation for Matt Wright's FormMail.cgi might be helpful if you have never used FormMail before. It is available here. Please note that the CPanel developers are not associated with Matt Wright's Script archive in any way.
I click the link for the actual script and get this:
FormMail-Clone
The system administrator has disabled this script.
Sorry, to lazy to fight with photobucket for screenshots...
Okay, you're in the wrong place. You need to go to the CGI Center and then CGI Email. That'll take you to a page telling you you've got CGI email up okay (if it doesn't then you don't...and I don't know how to help you there... >.> ) and it'll have links to what you need. Click on "the cgiemail user guide and that should get you all set up.
Awesome. XD That's who I used to go through. Then I decided that I didn't have a use for my own site... so I got rid of it. Now I've found the nexus, and my roommate & best friend wants to build a site, so it's looking good again.
