Oh, Philippe's former self would have been perfect! Amarion was never really evil - he gained his necromancer power to save his brother's life but when he learned what he needed to save Ril's life it was like a cigarette and he became addicted and got into SOOO much trouble his entire race fall and became enslaved, blah, blah. Dur...why do I have an urge to get a balspawn...they look so cool and it would give Iarion and Kesukiath something to keep tabs on when they're not hunting stray demons from the previous war. Heh...

*after reading Balspawn info* Could one of these kick a kharuane's butt? I don't know what you mean by powerful and stuff like that but if they're as strong as you say....

Can you explain there fire again? I'm a little confused.

I would still like to send someone for that one, just trying to figure out who or what. It obviously can't be a phoenix though I'm trying to decided what a phoenix gryhon would think of them. A phoenix deals with souls yes, but they are necomatic in power...*blinks* Fyrfac/Isyar was pretty bad-ass when he was turne into a demon...heh...

Now...a Sentran Necromancer Elf or a Reririan Death Mage...*facepalms*

... yeah, I think one of these could kick a kharaune's butt five ways to Tuesday. Really, these are demi-gods, Yakima XD Phoenixes aren't. These are like one of the strongest things in the Nexus right now, or will be once they're sent out. All they'd have to do is warp the phoenix's flesh, turn its heart inside-out or something, and POOF! no more fight. Admittedly, said phoenix would just come back, but it'd be a baby and unable to fight. It might be a long succession of deaths, but then a smart balespawn would just warp the phoenix's body enough that it couldn't function, and then they'd be enough, I think.

A clever kharaune could probably hold his own with just magic, if it could withstand the pain of being warped around physically, but even then, I doubt it'd be able to cause a demi-god to just die.

Cacopheny answered that well. X3

Also, the balefire is not normal fire. Anything organic it touches will spontaneously mutate.

Thinking on this, though, I has a question. Can magic protect one from the willful corruption? Not the balefire per se, but when the balespawn consciously tries to warp and mutate. Is there any kind of magic/ability that could protect one? Like, that doesn't come from another demi-god? XD

For example, I was wondering if purity magic/abilities could withstand corruption, even if the wielder wasn't a minor deity sort of creature, or simple (but obviously powerful) protective wards.

Khaurane can fight very well as a 'baby'. They're just smaller. Just because it returns to life dosn't mean it's powers wait until they are adults. If a khaurane kit enters the Netherworld after there first incarnation, they are in there ashen form. There spirits and powers never change; there spirits change very slowly in form after there first death and there powers increase because they gain more knowlage over the years. They aren't that weak and I didn't base them off the legends completley. I gave them a bit of a twist and a boost in power, you could say.

Can a balespawn defend itself against soul attacks? If physical wouldn't work then the pheonix would simply revert to spirit attacks, targeting there soul - or they would say 'fuck it, this thing isn't worth my effort' and leave. If a balespawn were to warp it's body, that wouldn't matter. A phoenix that is killed in the physical realm takes a while to come back, which is a draw back, but if they're pissed enought they can send there souls into the physical realm and still attack with the same amount of power - they just don't have a physical body to use. *shrug* I'm not trying to come out one top as the most powerful creature but I think it's a bit annoying that you assume a kharane is that weak in a fight. They can hold there own, if they have to.

If a khaurane and a balespawn met on unfriendly terms, it would be a pretty damn good fight to watch, I think. Expecially if the phoenix is an older one of about 5 incarnations or so. I don't know much about demi-gods but I'm not about to say that there is something out there that could win against it. I'm not saying that it would be a khaurane, either, but I would rather hear what Phe says about them.

I want to know about there fire, though, to determine if a pheonix /can/ withstand that. I know that I created the phoenixs as the 'ultimate' necromancer type, but they have physcial powers as well, something that evolved over time to combat the Ansulian dragons during the war. They combine that with necromancy.

... Iiiii never said they were weak. I just said the balespawn were stronger : P They're demi-gods. Children of a goddess and a demon that frightened even the bravest, coldest, and most apathetic. Unless phoenixes are demi-gods, balespawn are stronger XD That's all I'm sayin.

Oh my. We could get into a contest about whose creatures are stronger, or we could all sit back and admit that as soon as you release your creatures out into the general populous, people are probably gonna misinterpret them one way or another. XD Does it matter who could win a fight? Whoever is writing the fight is going to make it end the way they want it to one way or another, whether the original creator thinks it's possible or not.

Just saying, is all. XD

Since the history of the Khaurane are unknown, it is hard to say. It is believed they are offspring of the gods in a way - banished to the physical plane for the rest of there generation which is why they are so strong.

Isyar Firewing (aka Fyrfac which means Fire Demon) is/was the strongest of all his kind though right now in the Nexus plot he hasn't been freed of his curse yet. Dezerak used some ancient, forbidden arts to ensare him though part of it was done through trickery and decete. Isyar fell for it and vowed revenge for it and eventually tricks Dezerak into his own demise. Then he works on his next revenge victim, his late 'master's' son, Regor, who tries to corrupt and control Rerir thinking it is his birth right. *cough*

*thinks to past development notes for the phenoix's*

As far as I can tell anyone, the Khaurane were probably offspring of the gods but something happened. Maybe the gods found them useless or something and wanted to get rid of them. The Khaurane rebelled, fought and in the end were banished, cursed to live and die but never to really die; to never return to there homeland. Intrupret that how you want it because I'm not very fermiluar with demi-gods. It is possible, due to there necromatic powers, they have demonic blood but that, too, is lost history and none of the original Khaurane are still alive to tell them of this. They never said where they came from probably because they were still pissed off at the gods. :P

Okay...so it's not normal fire...I figured that much. :P Neither is the Khaurane's fire when they use it because it is laced with power from the netherworld and normal magic. *blink* They usually use there fire as a sheild (a Fire Sheild...not the same kind of fire they use when killing themselves after 150ish years of living in the physical world).

Anyway...if I get one of these, I want Iarion to have a little fight with it or something just 'cause. This is why I'm asking so many annoying questions. Iarion will probably have Kesukiath tell him not to fight it but a Khaurane's pride often gets in the way. Only Isyar/Fyrfac would have a true chance of coming out alive and only having a scratch. He's been controlled and such before and that has only made that dork stronger...hech why Isyar will keep his feathery tail on Rerir and NOT enter the Nexus....and if he does, Segarra will drown him in water to cool his ego....Iarion is Aenon and Kesukiath's probelm. :P

I know...but if I do get one that comes to Treval, I want to be able to keep my facts straight. :P From what I've read so far, a khaurane will get it's ass kicked if it dosn't have brains enough to back off before it gets smothered by whatever this thing throws at them. I'm NOT trying to create an argument, I'm just trying to get my FACTS straight. I was just annoyed that is was assumed that a Khaurane kit looses there powers until they mature again when in fact they don't - 'cause if they did Isyar would never have been able to defeat Regor eventually as he actually leaves Tiarnen's body in spirit form, attacks Regor and draggs the Warlock Lord/whatever-I'm-going-to-make-his-title be into the Netherworld with the rest of his divided spirit to kill him. How/Why Isyar returns to the physical world as an adult phoenix I'm still trying to explain but I have a general idea why that one happens...

Phe, sorry for this mess. I'm not trying to sound upset or anything... :( And I didn't mean to accuse you, Caco...I just wanted to clarify some of the things you said...*hides*

Alright, according to Myrror, things that are immune to balefire are naturally so. It is not a learned or magical thing. Neither is balefire itself, so this makes sense. Balefire is a supernatural element.

If Lanse'shri spirits are immune to balefire, chances are there are other sorts of spiritlike beings that are as well, or can least resist it. Natural, living creatures? Nuh-uh.

JKat, I think it's safe to say non-living organics would not be affected by the balefire. They're fair game to the corruptive abilities of a Balespawn, though.

Accually, Lanse'shri is a pocket realm of Myrror's, something dalake can make. Myrror's is just a wee (meaning, a lot larger) bit bigger than most. The realm they're from is what they call the "Gaia Realm"

I'd say things that have an immunity to supernatural things, radiation or toxic things may have a resistance to the balefire, though the balespawn could work around it--it would just take more power.

And, if I may add, the other things I've sent out with balefire elementation are very, VERY weak compared to these guys, especially the hunter cats. Things that already have balefire, no matter how weak, should be immune to the balefire of the balespawn as well--though not to the corrupting powers. Anything with balefire might accually be a target to 'make their own'.

:: headscratches :: Helpful, thanks, both of yas ^^ But my question was really more regarding the conscious corruption that doesn't require the touch of balefire... or are all of the notes referring to balefire applicable to that ability, as well?

oooh wow technicalities.

For the record-- I don't want any of my characters or my worlds to be affected by anything unless I specifically say okay. So I suppose I'm changing my request-- none of my characters in this hatching, please? XP They look hellacool, but the IC Reprecussions are not something I'd like to deal with.

Also, can I just say that for all future references, my characters and my world are not to be effected by anything like that at all? From anyone. I want to be the only one messing with my characters and my world. I can come up with IC reasons, if you'd like, just.. yeah.

I'm boring. ^^; sorry.

O_o Who said that Phe's trying to affect other people's worlds and stuff? It's always been our own choice as to what repercussions occur in our own worlds, even if other people occasionally dabble in 'em. You could probably ask Phe to make you a particularly prosaic balespawn without ambition, if you'd like, and they might be happy to twist the smaller things in life. XD I don't think they're all going to be little evil alien conquerors!

Anyways, DAGRON ARMS RACE! ZOMG! :P If this sparks more demi-god dragons to start popping up, I don't mind. XD I like me the super-powers and such. They're fun. Dragons are meant to be bad-ass at times.

-shakes head- nonono, no one did. XP It's just that everyone went all WHOO CORRUPTIVE BEINGS and Iii'm not so into that for my world unless I'm making the corruptive beings. XP

And she did also say that they corrupt and look to corrupt wherever they go, so yeah. :3 I'd actually like to say that things from mindspace are immune to it, but.. that's kinda unfair. XP so i'm just gonna say that nothing from mindspace that is with /me/ is to be affected unless I say so, which is more fair. :3 if someone else owns something from mindspace and wants it to be corrupted, then by all means, corrupt away, and i think that pleases everyone.

Yeah, wow, I know these guys are hella powerful, but...I figured, it's not like I'm trying to enforce them on an RP or something. That would get me totally booted as a god-moder. XD

But very frequently I'd see people ask about evil things, and then I got my awesome Anathema Scalesbane from Myrror, and after that I got my beautiful Red Demon, and I figured...hey, why not, let's make some bad-ass baddies! Anyone who WANTS or NEEDS a super-powahed bad guy can get one, I can provide some nifty personality traits and powerful abilities, and people can roll with them in their stories!

Yeah, it's their PERSONALITY that Balespawn want to spread their influence, but no way in hell can I try to INFLICT that on everybody. ^_^; If people don't want to deal with a powerful baddie, they don't have to adopt one, simple as that.

PS-- if either of them, or just the red demon, ever make babies again in the future, i want some~ XP becuase I adore that sort of thing. :3 just nothing that'll upset my balance. <3 -will keep an eye out for future clutches-

Well I can tell you straight up that if the Red Demon ever procreates again, the kids will be just as bad...HE'S the one that's the uberpowerful half of the pair, though Anathema isn't anything to shake a stick at, either. XD She tore through all the Fate's protective wards, after all. But the Demon is waaaaaay worse. XD

(Come on, you know the scariest thing about Pyramid Head is the fact that you CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO HIM. I refuse to acknowledge those two wimpy clones at the endgame.)

But that's why he only torments my ship. >;3 I loves him.

Well yeah, but I can handle.. pyramidhead like. >.> It's more.. iunno. They taste different, the balespawns and the red demon. :3 if that makes any sense.

Like.. iunno. The bit in their info about actively looking to spread corruption bit is what turned me off from them.

hee, impossible to explain. Point is, the balespawns make me hide under a couch, and the red demon makes me perk my ears and go ooooh. which is why it's probably good i dun live on the twisted fate. he'd eat me, but yes. :3

IT's not the bad i don't like, it's the forward.

Ah...okay...I was just wondering because if my plotness comes out right, I was going to use Iarion as a method to convice the balespawn to NOT corrupt all of Anar. :P That was why I was wondering how they would stand up if a fight occured. And since there personalities are not always evil-evil, Iarion might be able to convice one to not corrupt the entire world. :P Does that make sense now why I kept asking all those annoying quetions?

And since these things are immortal, Iarion might be the best choice I have to sponser one of these guys...or I could just create a new khaurane but Iarion would just be easier...*goes to check deadline before going to blow off some steam by cleaning my room...my step father is being a real prick and I wish I could just move out.....*screams*

It's actually not the actually corruption that these guys seek. It's power. Corruption is a means to that end, since of course they have power over anything they corrupt (by means that they are stronger, not that the corruption gives them control over the corrupting thing).

Balespawn are NEVER good. They are on the dark side of neutral at BEST. Iarion couldn't convince one not to try and take over things. It's not their nature to be content with what they have.

You could call it a sort of weakness, if you can find a way to exploit it. They can overextend themselves in their drive to spread their influence everywhere they can.
