News so old it's history (aka. the last MNW clutch)

Long long ago there was an agency known as Mountain's Note Weyr run by a girl named Alyia. When she left dragoning she handed the whole pile over to me, including a clutch of thirty plus eggs still sitting on the sands. (My notes indicate that nearly fifty dragons were planned to come out of those eggs, though considerably fewer candidates were being asked for).

Now, not-quite-so-long-but-still-a-good-deal-of-time ago, I asked the Nexus "Do you want to see these dragons hatch?" and the general answer was, yes, everybody wanted one last chance at the MNW graphics.

But then I fell off the face of the earth, and nothing happened.

Now that I'm back on the face of the earth, I want to know, are you still interested in those dragons?

Considering the size of the clutch, and the length of time it's been bumming around for, I'm going to do a couple things I wouldn't do with a normal clutch for it.

1.) I'll accept anything for these dragons. Candidates, stats pages, sponsorships, dragon-trades, dragon-bonded-pairings, multiple-bondings, you ask for it, you can have it, basically. You can also ask for a dragon, and then attach a bond to it after you get it.

2.) I'll distribute the images as I get requests for them (which is why I put this thread here, and not in the clutch section, it seemed more like a giveaway than a clutch).

3.) I will accept colour requests. For those of you who don't know, MNW dragons come in varying shades of Gold, Bronze, Brown, Red, Blue, Green, Black, White, Silver, and duo-toned (but considering what these eggs went through to get to the Nexus, I might accept other colours...), with possible markings of Frosted, Burnished, Gilded and Silvered!

Also: I've got a "random dragon generator" set up, where the markings, colours and even gender can be randomly determined if you don't want to decide. And all these wonderful anomolies shall be caused by the magic it took to keep these eggs alive after they got to Otykaii. Yes.... that's it.

4.) I'm not going to put a limit on the number of dragons you can ask for, but please, be reasonable. We'll see how I feel when we get in the ballpark of the size the clutch was supposed to be, but these might be "limited edition", I'm just not sure yet...

Oh gaaaawd! Yes!

I'll have to figure out what I'd like, but count me in. Gilded? Do you have an example of those? I got a frosted and a Burnished I think, but their markings were wrong from one stage to the next (weirdly). Do you know if that was ever corrected? (I think it was that the wings were colored one thing on the weyrling and the adult they were *completely* different.)

.... *resists the urge to ask for 3 complete sets...* lol

XD Wow, this is what happens when I just recite things off the notes I've got without actually thinking about what the words mean. It seems kind of silly to call it 'gold' when it's silver...

I think what I'll do is make a Gilded that's actually gold in colour and change the one that was labeled as gilded to Silvered. >.> Because I like things to make sense.

Saaayyy.... Would you want to do a trade for Alabaster/Blackstone rider-dragon pairs? Did you get in on my offer for those? Basically they're whatever rank of dragon you'd like to have, plus a rider, and a pedigree - they're from my existing dragons. There's a thread somewhere for them. They are the Alabaster and Blackstone dragons I used a while ago. I'd love to make more of them and get some in trade.

Yes they're already made, except for the minute that it takes to splash colour on them (literally, a minute).

I was thinking something black/dark blue/dark purple with gold markings something like this or this. I'm not saying those designs exactly, just someting in that "tribal" kind of style. Uh, if that's okay.

Do you want to do a one-for-one exchange? Because ... lol that might leave you with a LOT of alabaster riders.

Alabaster / Blackstone come in these ranks:
Female only - Gold, Cream, Purple, Green
Male only - Bronze, Brown, Red, Blue
Usually male - Copper, Slate (larger end)
Either Male or Female - Black, Silver, White

They're pernese sized, though run small. There are minor differences in sizes of A vs B types. Both I think are image-sized. They come with riders which you can specify having been born on Alskyr or Pern, or having particular duties, or whether you want then cross-bonded or whatever.

I think I'd like ... perhaps a dozen of the MNW dragons.

Okay, um, how about I give you a list of the ones I think I'd like now, and if I think of any I'd like to add to the list later I'll let you know. Because I haven't got a dozen on my list XP

cream - female rider
purple - female rider
purple - male rider
copper (m) - male rider
slate (m) - male rider
black (m) - female rider
silver (f) - male rider

And I don't really have any preferences on where they were born or their duties or anything.

Is that okay or would you rather something be changed?

-thinks- a'ight. in total, i want 13 dragons.
of these 13 dragons, i want a variaty of different colours, though how many different colours is completely random.
I want 7 of them to have markings, with at least one of each of the three markings~ which leaves four up to you.
I'd like one to be brown-blue duotoned. maybe a burnished gold, but that's up to you~

i'm gonna have either one or two groups of bonded dragon pairs, with either 2 or 4 being independant. 7 will have riders, but the gens aren't working right now.

Hee. confusing, byt yes. kittens~

Hey, I remember those dragons! I remember acquiring one as a contest prize, but I think I managed to squirm my way into that just as Alyia was leaving.

By the by, are these dragons the children of Zyradeth and Runelth, or are they unrelated to that clutch? And would it be possible for subsequent clutches or giveaways to be hosted with enough begging, bribing, and pleading? I'd hate for this to be it. *big-shiny-puppy-eyes*

Maybe with a good deal of begging and a pure-blooded MNW pair mated at Otykaii I'll run another clutch with the images. And birthday gifts. So after this, only on special occassions.

And yes, this is supposed to be the children of Zyradeth and Runelth, but with all the magic the mages of Otykaii used to keep them from dying after the trip the colours hatched aren't really going to have anything to do with their parentage.

The strange colourings/genders are explainable by the magic the mages at Nidus Otykaii had to use to keep them alive until they hatched. Yep, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Gilded: Bronze, Blue

Silvered: Red, Brown

Frosted: Black, Silver

Burnished: White, Green

Normal: Brown, Silver, Gold, Green

Could I have more Pernese gendered versions of these? I'm going to set up riders with them and they're largely going to stay with Dragonhope, so they're needing to be pretty Pernese.

I'm working on your riders/dragons now - do you have preferences to Alabaster or Blackstone on any of those dragons?

Color info:
(bonder gender does not matter)
Color: Dragon Gender: Info:

Gold- m/f : highly intelligent, least likely to bond, extremly long lives. (millenia or two? =P )
Silver- m/f: intelligent, but more reckless, likely to bond because they enjoy companionship, extremly long lived.
Black- m/f: powerful magic users and tricksters, bonding is a dice roll with these guys. Moderately long lived. (less then 1000 years)
Ice- f, rarely m: the healers of the dragon world, very small and delicate looking. Moderately long lives, bonding is on an individual basis.
Copper: m : Proud fighters, rarely bond to anyone but the strong willed. Short but passionate lives (Less then 500 years)
White- m/f: will bond, moderately long lives (less then 500 years)
Brass: f : Loves bonding, moderately long lives
Blue: m : steadfast workers, enjoy bonding moderately long lives
Green: f : flighty and cheerful, short lives
Purple: m : steadfast and calm, moderately long lives
Red: f : Sassy and intelligent, life span varies, as does bonding.
