Though I have to finish shading the male template, the female is now ready and so I figured I could start accepting applicants. It will be ready by pick-up time, of course.
I'm too tired to really explain the process right now, but the site does explain it to some detail and I'm sure [hope] you guys can understand everything. If not, ask away and I shall answer.
I haven't decided if I want to keep her or include her in those available for Bonding. Also, still experimenting on how to represent scales nicely... I may end up making a texture pattern out of some scale regions on markered Regali to overlay on these.
Note: Horns and scale coverage will be unique to each Regali.
What world does this take place on-- is Regalis Lullabis Haven the planet name, or a place on a planet? Do Regali go between worlds, or are they pretty much native to wherever their homeworld is? And, well, how much contact does this world have with other worlds, if Regali don't go between worlds?
See, most of the chars I'd consider sending, at the moment, would have to be world-walkers XD I don't feel comfortable enough with your world yet, not knowing much of anything about it, to try and write someone from it o.o I definitely wanna send somebody, o'course, just gotta figure on who and all that >.> And how likely it is for someone from another world to know about Regali and their homeworld will definitely affect who I can send.
^^ What she said. I'm assuming they need a one-on-one bond, and shouldn't be pre-bonded or sponsoring another, but if that's not the case could you say so? It's just an assumption because ... I can't remember all the info right now.
hmm. i'll wait for answers to theirs before sending you anyone definitively, since the answers will influence who i send.
also-- are they single-bond only (i.e, will only bond once, and/or their bonded can never bond again after bonding them/cannot have any bonds to start with, or are they cool with sharing their bondmate?
Also, i need permissions/denied permissions for something, but i'll pm that to you...
Regali are native to the planet Alyrr, the Haven is just the name for the agency. While /some/ Regali may eventually have limited teleportation abilities, they do not travel between worlds unless they are journeying with their Bondmate. So if your Seeker is from another world, they'll have to travel to Alyrr somehow. You're welcome to come up with a creative reason for their journey to Alyrr, but you can also use the reason that they are specifically looking to bond with a Regalis.
If you can write without being overly specific about geography and architecture, you're welcome to create a character native to Alyrr. I haven't got anything official written on the planet to give you information about it, but the habitat on Alyrr is similar to that of Earth. I think eventually I will introduce different classes of Regali that are adapted for different terrains, but right now I'd stick with wooded areas, meadows, and even some lower elevation mountain regions. They don't require out-of-door homes, though. Regali can be housed comfortably in spacious rooms within buildings.
Going back to world-walkers, again that's fine. Alyrr won't have high contact with other worlds (in my novel they won't have contact with any other worlds, but for the purpose of this agency it's a bit necessary), but it's possible that some stories/tales/legends may have spread via traders.
As for sharing bondmates.... Regali will bond with one person, though it's possible they will re-bond if their previous Bondmate dies. I can't imagine them beign particulary fond of sharing their Bondmates, so I'm going to have to say they're single-bond. HOWEVER, they don't mind companions to their Bondmate such as pets, familiars, firelizard-type creatures, ect. creatures that have weaker bonds, such as Pernese firelizards, are fine. I'd say no to any other major bonds, though.
It's not so much locale for Alyrr that would bother me writing about the world, it's species and culture XD But I can work with an off-worlder. I've got a few travelers who know far too much about isolated worlds for anyone else's good >.> Thanks for the info ^^
Might take me a few days to get anything to you, what with school starting and a few other deadlines to write for. Will this be open into next week?
Ahhh. I've got several other developed species that are native to Alyrr, but I haven't got much info online about them. Alyrr has been around in my imagination for over 6 years now, but it's always been a nice home to house my original species rather than a world with an established culture and society. I've been starting to consider and tackle these things as of late, but there's not much I can give you yet as I'm still toying with ideas.
I do love Ancient Greek and Egyptian culture, though, so I'll probably draw a lot of inspiration from those two. So at least you'll know not to mention anything of common advanced technology, like cars, telephones, ....microwaves. XD
If you have something specific that you're unsure of, you can always ask.
one more question, becuase i don't remember reading it anywhere? Do they just bond, or can they sponsor. I read that they don't NEED people to live, but that doesn't nessicarily make us eligble to try for unbonded ones.
The sponsoring thing is new to me, but I just read about it on the Nexus Vocab page. ^^
I suppose an unbonded Regalis may decide to befriend/accompany a person without actually bonding to them, but since they can live independently without a guardian/companion, they'd have to have a reason for doing so. Nevertheless, I can think of several good reasons so it may not be unheard of.
Are you interested in having an unbonded Regalis character or something?
Yep. Either sponsored or mostly-independant (i.e, lives on their own and visists their original sponsor every now and again.) ^^ I usually like to have one sponsored beastie of most species if it's possible. 'Course, if that's not cool with you, it's fine. XP your species, your call.
I'll send you a sponsor, then, and a seeker to bond. dunno how soon-- getting anything done is hard as hell in my mom's house, but yes. I might send you the sponsors now, and wait on the seekers.
humanoids are preffered for bonding seekers? I'm thinking of sending anthros. Would dragons be okay, for later reference? and for current reference, would dragons be okay as sponsors.
I'm sending. Eventually ;.; Work is being horrible to me right now (verification of thousands of tiny lines of information o.o thousands I tell you!) but I have my character all picked out, and the story started, I just... need to finish it XP It might take me a while, like, until the weekend, unless we somehow finish the verification project quickly....
Anthros are perfectly fine for Seekers. As for sponsors... dragons would be okay, as the Regalis isn't actually bonded to a sponsor, but rather just accompanying them. It'd be possible for a Regalis to bond with a dragon, as long as the dragon has high intellectual capabilities, doesn't like to eat horse-meat (x_x), and isn't already bonded to another.
I plan to, I'll probably be working on it tonight, provided I don't need more sleep from coldage. (slept like 12 hours last night, hell on my back and even worse on trying to get anything paged lol)
Somewhat, since the creature I'm sending exists before a certain point in my timeline, I want him to *get* to that point in the timeline ... I can either say that it's closer, or just make it not matter (either is fine) or it won't matter if they're very long lived. (target number is more than 200 years, by the way...)
And I'll be sending you Targan shortly either way.
