All righty then. Somewhat long-winded story-chapter can be found here. Was my first ever portrayal of Zabeth between-genders : O Go me! And, er, if I missed a pronoun anywhere, let me know >.>

-reads all the info- They need pheonixes, and can;t have that close of an association with dragons, these characters of ours? :/ The pheonixes will protect them, I suppose?

You mentioned necromancers. I have a few necromancers loitering about, but why necromancers? Would they have to be cursed by a necromancer, or being gnawed away at, or soemthign to that end? Or could they just be necromancers. :/ but then they wouldn't need a pheonix...

and also, slap me on the head if i've missed this, but hjpow long do we have? X.x

godsiwantone. how many eggs are there? adn i may just have to sit this one out. ;-; in 12 days i'm going out to cali. arhgh iwantonebeforethen~

Bua ha. XD That knocks me out of the running. I'm glad I didn't start a story before reading those rules, that woulda been a big downer.

Good luck to everyone who /does/ send a story in, in any case! *salute*

DNS: Phoenixs need a reason to want to go with this person. They're not like dragon bonding where they just know they'll get a long with a person. Perhaps it's not as much as the person but the place.

Dark magic, necromancers; anyone or thing that deals with the dead or spirit world are good candidates because phoenixs spend a good amount of time there. I have a bit about this in the info section with is inncomplete.

Also, There is no set limit in eggs. I'm setting a due date after the fair so Sunday-ish next week. *pokes* If you had read the prelim story you would have realized that. :P

Dray: :( If your character is from the Ranch of Doom, I already see a reason /why/ a phoenix is needed. But it's your choice. I'll take your name down from the list if you want.

The only reason I'm requireing stories and that little reason is because as easy as it is for me to say 'Giveaway or Draw' I would rather have people show some work to get them. I'm trying to move away from giveaways and draws...that's why this turned into a clutch type thing...

Ah, I understand about wanting some written story. ^_^" I had thought that the characters we sent had to have some kind of overwhelming urge to need a phoenix (pheonix? :O I don't know which is the spelling that you're looking for!), though that might have been cleared up in the story. >.> I admit that I ran straight to the rules instead of reading the pre-story first, and kind of lost interested when I figured that Dracothrope wouldn't be an eligible sponsor.

I did read the prelim story. ._. the one on the page, right, where they say ants don't make fire and the red pheonix almost kills the dragon? I must've missed it.

and.. ah. ._. so just being a necromancer would be reason enough, since they'd be magically aligned the same way? I read the info section, and they use fire necromancy. So I could send a character who's a necromancer in to get a pheonix for the purposes of getting an ally with similar powers, that would be cool? whereas sending you a necromancer who was vagually curious in the pheonixes would not?

Sorry, i'm incredably dense sometimes.

and eh, as always, stories usually take less effort from me than stats do. X.x If i put too much effort into a story, I have a bunch of really wierd breakdowns because I'm REALLY bad at writing and I hate to realise that. ^^; so yeah, the story won't be that good, do you mind?

@Dray: Heh...yeah about the spelling I was spelling it 'pheoenix' but when I wrote it in Word the program automatically changed the spelling for me to 'phoenix' so we'll go with that one. I'll probably be more lenient then I sound in the rules, too. I'm just trying to avoid the 'ohh! pretty! I want one' thing and trying to make people think. *shrug* They're looking for homes where they won't be hunted, killed, or wanted for there power. Relate to that and we're all good! (that goes for all's ya too, :P)

@DNS: Like I wrote in my reply to Dray, they just need a reason to want to go there. They're are courious by fault and love to explore but if you want to keep them there you need a reason. A good exsample is what happens to my characters in the story. Fyrfac saves himself by joining his spirit with the elfs and lives with the elf for years until he becomes strong enough to start using his powers again and even consider returning to his body. Because Fyrfac gets to know this man very well and his life, Fyrfac decides to leave Kelberen, the man he had been 'bound' to in the beginning and stay with the elf and his family to protect them. No, after all is said and done do they need Fyrfac to protect them because there is nothing after the souls but he feels a duty to protect them after all they've done.

As long as I get the point and such, ness, I'll be good. ;) I may sound picky but most people here know I don't always hold those rules with a concrete fist - mostly because I forget, get lazy, or just have a blond moment. *shrug* I planned on about 10 kits coming out of this but there numbers are not known even by those at Arminas. Two are staying at the Aeire, Kiax and Ashari from the story so you can expect some more kits coming from them at least. :P

@Caco: Nope, you're good. I read your story and Zabeth is good to go...I already have the forms posted here on the candidate board so don't worry about it. :)

I think it might help the situation a bit (as I'm entirely left confused about who can and can't bond or even bother showing up) to have some examples of characters that *you* would give us as a 'giveaway'. I'm not suggesting you do so, but merely show a couple simple background/personality bits that would go well.

The best exsample I would have is part of the major plot twist in the novels of Rerir so I'm trying not to give that away.

Well, the out of the ones that I have I know Philippe would be a good exsample. Aenon, Jarel, Tayenden perhaps. Or ordinary people that have gotten into a supernatural mess with evil spirits. I'm not limiting this to characters. The place you send them to could interest them as well. A place with magic and 'cool' things (remember, theyre knowlage is limited so 'cool' is rather broad), are that might give them something to do. The Ranch of Doom is probably a good example. Treval City, too. The character itself dosn't need to need the pheonix as much as where they are going and what you would end up having them do. I'm hopeing to let creativity spread here. I didn't put a number on how many showed up because I know I will probably give everyone who enters one but I'm trying to challange and stop my habbit of just giving away things. :P I'm honestly not going to be too picky and if only 10 people enter then I'm sure they'll all get one. If I get 30...well, then I'll have to leave some people out...:( But I'm sure 30 won't exsist...

If you have an idea and you're unsure if it will work post or PM me. I'll gladly help or critic...*shrug*

Oh, Caco's character is a good submission, too, because the character is immortal just like these guys so there is no fear of loosing them. Immortal elves are welcome, too! And if you have a plot/idea for an immortal dragon/phoenix paring as a plot twist, PM me or something. Heck, I have ideas and might have to send either Ashari or Kiax to Treval! *hmmm* Yeah...they should be seperate anyway because mates or not, these guys don't like others of there kind in there territory...*smacks them as Fyrfac tries to steal camera from desk* Did I mention they are like children most of the time? *baps Fyrfac's nose*

Fyrfac: I would be a better muse then that four legged thing you call a winged wolf! She'd be better as my dinner!

Segs: *gasp* OHHHH!

Fyrfac: *smirks and licks chops* Hmmm...now to boil, bake or fry you...

PS...here is Ashari and Kiax (who will probably move to Treval...)

How are they going to Treval, where there are *dragons*, which you specify are like 'dogs and cats' with these? That's where I'm getting very confused. Are you making an exception for those going with our characters?

I don't have magic based characters other than my harry potterverse House Domina, and I really don't have much inspiration to create a whole new bunch of them exclusively to house and stay away from them because they've got dragons. Maybe I'm being particularly dense here but it seems like they're NOT intended to go to anyone near a dragonry. You might want to be a bit more specific.

And ... I'm not familiar with every one of your characters. I don't know but 2 names you listed there. I meant more:

People with open, generous personalities. People without those qualities. People with a dark, scary past. People with bright sunny futures. That kind of thing? People who've never seen a dragon.

That's what I've been very confused by during this thread... Sorry if I seem a bit put off by it, but it really seemed from your first description like no dragon rider should come near these guys or sparks would fly. Then 'these guys will probably move to Treval'...? *I'm confused*. The necromancy thing (I know what it is) just makes it more so: necromancers would or would NOT be good? I really don't get it.

Yes...I started with that but that would be pointless even to let them into the Nexus. I put in the opening story why they are now able to tolerate dragons - Emger comes from Rerir and tells the 'leading' two that the dragons of the Nexus do not have the power, ability, or the 'poison' in there blood to kill them and they are safe. They also, though they almost killed him, got along with Yuvarajth quite well afterward.

So scratch what I said earlier. I though the ending to the post-ceremony story cleared that up. Apparently not.

I'm sure I can find a phoenix that matches any personality, Shard. I'm not going to sterotype them and say they only choose people with hard, depressing lives, who are tormented or that are always happy, content with there lives, whatever. THe person you send needs to be a representative of the place they are going to because they don't bond unless they are immortal.

They can go good or bad in terms of Necromancy so I'm not limiting them to good or bad. However, if you send someone on the bad side of the Necromancy spectrum, please make sure they keep in line at Arminas. Merlin could probably still do some damage being a mage/magic weilder himself. :P

*Is getting confused now because she thought this was simple and people are confusing me with so many questions that I thought were answered...* *sigh*

@Boo: Heh...I'm flattered. Thanks. Love knowing they are being read! :P DRoP? Dragonriders of Pern I take it? And the story I have planned/going for Merlin, Taliesin and Nimune is still going. One of those romance dramas. Have you read this one yet? Skies of Fire It's Philippe's story though the ending is going to change someday. And 'Cynte' is actually me...:P

Hee, it's beginning to dawn on me now~ I just need some time for things to occur ot me. ^^
Yes...I started with that but that would be pointless even to let them into the Nexus. They also, though they almost killed him, got along with Yuvarajth quite well afterward.
and ah, that's refreshing. XP Now I have an idea of who to use. He has a pernese dragon (that he got in a roleplay today, actually), but hey, pernese draggies don't have any magic at all, so the pheonixes would probably be as cool with them as they were with Yuvarajth. Squee~~

Also, now I'm getting ideas. Would these guys be baby-making compatible with regular gryphons, or is that doubtful? and also, i take it those gryphies on the rescue page are available? >.> I'd gladly sponsor one and send a bonder for another~ -wriggles happily- They're all beautiful, yakima. ^^

-coos at- argh ideas are bad for me! particularly since I have summer school in... 5 hours. ^^;

Yes, those are available! *facepalm* Forgot to announce that. Dur...

And they can breed with other gryphon breeds. I plan on some mix and match pairings myself with the Setian and Volucrian strains that I have at Arminas. Females bear there young live, however, and only have about 1 to 2 young at a time, everyother year. So if you want more young, I advise pairing a gryphon female and a male phoenix...:P

-wrgglewriggle- the gender of the pheonix will be up to you, of course, but squee~ I'm off to get one gryph now, then, to sponsor. -nodnod- I still need to type up the story for the bonder adopter and the pheonixes~ i'd do it now, but i'm on a roll with another story i'm writing. 10000 words so far. ._. quite a lot for someone who has breakdowns every time she tries to write something.

Mwerk...Philippe's story (Skies of Fire link above) was over 62,000 words...all in a month...NaNoWriMo can be a pain and a spark of inspiration when the story is good and well planned. :P My following NaNo was just bearly making it, though.
