>.> But yes. I'm a rabid lesbian
DNS...OMFG XD I think that's the best thing I've ever heard anyone say, seriously. ;D

And duct tape your boobs?! Holy!Sh1T!Ouch!!!! What could possibly inspire you to do that? I think I'd rather sit through the piercings than bandage my boobs all day. Wearing a bra that's too small is torture.
Sometimes I do wish they had a shrink button, though. It sucks when you can't wear button-down shirts because the middle buttons always get propped open!

And as for piercings, corset piercings are super-sexy. I want to get one really bad, but I don't know if I'd like how it would look on me. They're HOT on those really skinny chicks, but I'd not and will never be bone skinny. I'm not huge, but yeah, just no.

Personally, I'm hetero. I have been bi-curious, but after really thinking it over, I just think that I couldn't do it. I just can't dig the female body in that way. It's weird, I can be attracted to another woman and think that she looks 'hot', but I wouldn't want to do anything with her. I think I just dig having sex with a guy a lot more than I could a woman.

I definitely agree with the everyone's a little gay thing. Has anyone on here ever watched Rob White? At least I'm pretty sure that's his name. You know, the scotch guy from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour.

Anyway, he had a really hilarious way of proving to his homophobic friend that he was gay:

"You like porn, don't you?"

"Yeah..."

"Well, do you like the guys to have a flacid penis?"

"No, I like big, hard, throbbing co--...! I never knew that about myself..."

I'm not so sure that I buy the whole 'homosexuality as a genetic link' type of thing. I think it makes it sound too much like a disease, plus, it just comes down to a matter of personal preference. I mean, can the fact that I hate tomatoes be traced down to a genetic link somewhere in my family?

And I also get really annoyed when people try to pass off their excuse for being anti-homosexual as a case of 'It's not natural' when there are cases of recorded homosexuality in nature all the time.

Mystic, you look so much like my friend Meg, it's scary.

And if we're sharing pictures, this is me, if anyone's curious:

Well, two words.....

"Angelina Jolie". I only know like 3 women personally (and maybe 2 guys) who don't think she's one of the hawtest things to walk the earth. Still weirded out by her *as a person* but hey y'don't have to *like* or even *know* someone to think they're hawt. :D

And ...... dooooon't get weird-arse piercings. I can see you in a corset, like a real one, but... eeew. ... Yeah yeah I've got 46 odd hours of tattooing on me, but as for body mods like that... eeew. They're cool but soooo not for me.

*Sigh* Angelina Jolie, Carrie Ann Moss, and Ani Difranco.

It's funny, I've never had a crush on a male celebrity that I can remember (well... um... come to think of it, Keanu Reeves, but only because he was Neo :o). But oh my... if I ever got to meet any of the above three, I'd get all schoolgirl-blushing and giggly.

Nicole, that's a really good picture of you. :D You're pretty.

Hmmmm, I personly don't think pref is linked to parent relationships, I think it's something that just is. Though I think some of the overtly 'girly guys' & extreamly 'butch(as in they look at like they have penis envy) girls' might have seriously messed up hormones, I'm not says they wouldn't be bi , les, or gay if they had their hormones they most likely would still be but I know about hormone imbalances and they aren't fun.

I'm pretty much guys only, some girls I might be attracted to mentaly, or even say wow she's really 'hot' but I couldn't deal with the 'mental trips' alot of girls go through, I get along better with guys, when they don't run away scared of me, most are horribly intimadated because I'm sooo dominate, ready to fight, ready to wack them upside the head if they do something stupid.

I can't do the oh I'm so weak I need to be protected, I can protect myself, but just because I can doesn't mean I wouldn't mind a guy jumping to my defence.

I'm not girly, girl. I like being pretty, but I don't use make unless I'm really board, or they're some reason to look extra nice. Also I have a saying, if I guy can't handle me like I am then what's the ponit of putting on a show for them.

The parents thing works, because very few people have a gender identity that's completely male or completely female. Dray, if you have a close relationship with your mother, but her gender identity includes the right aspects of the male identity, then it works.

I was raised from birth almost entirely by my dad, who I had a very strong relationship with, and I never had a close relationship with my mum at all. For all intents and purposes, on a psychological level my parents were reversed. My dad was my mother-figure and my mum was my father-figure. No relationship with my father-figure is at least part of the reason for why I am who I am now. I did try to say in my original explanation that your mother isn't always your mother figure, and your father isn't always your father figure, which is why a gay couple should be allowed to adopt kids.

I'm extremely photo-shy. To the point where if someone takes a photo of me, I'll go out of my way to destroy it before someone sees it. And Mercale has been trying to get a clear photo of me for years. I haven't submitted yet. I always look stoned in photos...

And yeah, maybe we ought to get back on topic...

So there's a lot I could say on this topic from personal observations and quandries. I mostly wanted to reply to Dray, but as I'm looking over this, I'm getting really verbose. *raspberries* and... we could so totally use a separate thread for this.
Dray wrote:...for some reason everything that comes out of my head is masculine (I know that sounds silly, but for instance: I feel a lot more at ease playing male characters during RP, or even touting them around similarly to Yakima's Segs-muse or anyone else who uses those kinds of terms.)...
This is something I relate to in high degree, oddly (or perhaps not), and I believe this sentiment has been expressed in the past - it often seems easier to play characters of the opposite sex. I find this greatly amusing. Many writers, I find play these roles quite convincingly. But this tendency goes beyond those of the 'inspired' sort, to gamers and more.

For instance, I was working for a computer company specializing in Gaming-geared systems. These were all guys, and no, they are not really nerdy as would be expected. Often the only common personality thread seemed to be games. What was especially interesting though, was that in games such as MMORPGs, or even table-tops like D&D, most all of the guys tended towards playing female characters.

So the questions I ask myself are: Are we writing from an assumptive observational standpoint, based on everyday life experiences with those of the opposite gender, and upon stereotypes? ... Or do we write from latent inner gender-bending traits? And from where do these stereotypes originate, if not from our own minds?

Scientifically speaking (and I'm speaking /very/ basically, so you can slay me on technicalities if you must) it is a single chromosome that separates the genders; An XY or an XX pairing, dictating physical structure and hormonal balance - testosterone or estrogen dominant. Sometimes with perhaps less than desirable accuracy.

We know, or believe that hormones are major players - instigators - in what are referred to as chemical reactions in the brain, affecting our emotions. Emotions in turn elicit response. How we respond largely seems to be influenced by upbringing.

On a basic level, women nurture, and men provide; more-at tend to desire to, inherently.

My dad is provider, my mom died when I was two. I have learned to not expect certain behaviors from my father, and I somehow compensated by being my own nurturer, even while lacking any outside influence or reference. Femme characteristics come easily - inwardly. To guys, I'm just another guy, with all the masculine characteristics you'd expect. But I am /very/ sensitive, so I relate well with gals. And I think, this influences my writing.

Ummm... I think that's mostly what I can say. If you wanna PM me to clarify, or ask my opinion as a guy, yeah... or whatever. There's touchier stuff I could comment on from personal experience. Heh.
Then again, this may be totally irrelevant to y'all. -__-

Fwee, the hour of random associations has arrived.

mm, theories. At 5:30 in the morning, they hurt my brain~

>.> I can name tons of theories, but yes. All I know for certain is that womens = love and mens = not love the great percentage of the time. Though there is one guy I would've done, but only becuase I knew him for awhile and, in tretrospect, he was kind of feminine.

Johnny depp, perhaps, Jkat? >.> I think he's hot. Not nessicarily sexually, i would't do him, he's just awesome looking~ I want to hug him~ and maybe draw him naked.

X3 The dog with the cyan-eyes is so creepy looking! *amused*

@Gil: It's interesting to know that it goes the other way, as well. I have an online MtF friend who's posted a lot of interesting insight to the whole gender thing. X3 She's had a lot to say but, so early in the morning, I can't remember off the top of my head what would fit in this topic. Maybe tonight I'll scrounge up some links.

Corset piercings... I don't think I've ever been really into piercings of any sort. (I blame it on my first set of ear-piercings where the lady who put 'em in, did something disastrously wrong, and I ended up having to go to a doctor to get one of them removed. x.x) but I an appreciate them from an outsider stand-point. XD I guess I'm just jaded--you see so many of them and you start thinking, "Oh, that's been done before, meh." D: Now once they start doing robotic-limbs, I'm so there. XDD I want mah digitigrade legs, consarnit!

I, too, think I may have to wait for the beasts in my brain to wake up before I can say anything properly eloquent in reply to that wonderfully thoughtful post. ^^;

DNS, go right ahead. X3 Could even just call me Kat if you wanted. And hey, those aren't bad pictures, I like the hair.

*sigh* I think if I wasn't terrified of needles I'd get some sort of interesting piercing. But I don't want it enough to let someone jab at me with needles.. *shudder*

That dog's name is sabre, i think, if you're talking bout the husky. ;-; she's the sweetest husky ever. argh. >.> I wish i owned her.

-points at jkat- kat you are~ >.> Which makes it easier on my poor braain, even though your sn isn't that hard to remember.

corset piercings kinda weird me out to be honest. Although if I were brave enough / wouldn't get fired from my job, I would SO do the punk/goth thing. I want eyebrow and cartilage piercings and a tattoo on my back and hair streaks like rogue from x-men has except purple instead of white. But piercings and tattoos hurt like bejeezus and I can't really predict how my boss would react to the hair dye (he might be fine with it, actually, but who knows) so I must for the moment be content with being boring and normal looking.

Oh and on the topic of Angelina Jolie and others ... that lesbian in me DEFINITELY thinks that certain women are totally hawt. Jennifer Garner and Nicole Kidman = love. But while I admire their form and think they're beautiful, I still have absolutely no desire to touch them or kiss them or have physical and emotional relationships with them. So I guess I find women attractive without being attracted to them, if it makes any sense.

D'aw. -hugs- ask him about it, or is there a dress code you can check?
I work in a kennel, so my boss doesn't really care, since no one supposedly sees me in the back. >.> they see me anyway, they just don't comment.
I think the purple streaks thing would be pwnsome~ ;-;

Like that?
I did the purple-Rogue for 2 years. Before that, it was pink Rogue, before that, blue Rogue. Now it's normal white-blonde Rogue ^_^ I've been an X-Men comic fan for like... 8 or 9 years. Rogue has always been my idol, and I wanted to destroy something when the first two X-Men movies lacked MY Gambit. Does the 3rd have him? I haven't seen it yet...

As for piercings... I had a corset piercing! Like I said, hurts if the ribbon is tied too tight. My ears are done 11 times alone. I've had surface piercings, my eyebrows, my septum, my nostrils, my tongue, all over my lips [for one concert, I pierced both my Madonnas, then did a labret and snakebites, and used 9mm black plastic cord to "stitch" my mouth shut. I've had nipples, compass bellybutton... let's see... had surface bars along my collar bone... Had surface bars in my forearms...

Chyeah.
Like I said, I get bored and needle-happy.

I want to get an eye piercing o.O Where they insert a small metal shape, like a star, into the white membraney stuff of your eyeball.

Well.
Um.
No?
Ok, so I have haven't pierced the very private girly parts, but I've pierced just about everything else. I heal well though, the only piercing scars I have are the ones on my left eyebrow, where my surface piercing got ripped out in a concert moshpit. Then when I repierced it, vertically this time, I went through the old scar tissue, so the area above my eyebrow is very sensitive and prone to twitching XD

My tongue ring ripped out too, but healed back together, so there isn't too much of a 'scar' there, just a line of skin that lacks taste buds XD

But there are rumors of an X-4
Especially since at the veryveryvery end of X-3
They showed Magneto in the park, trying to move metal chess pieces with his [now gone] powers. And he made the chess piece wobble.
Dundunduuuun!

I wanted to slap Rogue for getting the thing. It made me mad. They stray waywayway too far from the comics.

... not that I'm missing Jean that much. I've always despised her. Chyeah.

I want my prettyful GambitxRogue lovings! And her flying and her invincibility! Which doesn't actually make her invincible o.O She can still bite her lip and stuff! Hahaha. Only good for explosions and bullets I guess.

... I'm a dork. When I pointed out the lack of Gambit, my friend turned and goes "Cy, do you even know Gambit's powers?" so I listed exactly what he could do. Then Justin went through a list of X-Men that were in the comics, but not the movies, to make me prove I knew what I was talking about.

And did you know you can learn history stuffs from the X-Men comics? I didn't, until now XD

Actually, there's supposed to be a scene after the credits, too >.> I'm going to go see it again in order to catch the scene >: D

Check to make sure there's preproduction going on for X4 before you get too fired up about it... they're missing a large chunk of their main cast. I felt that the third movie had a very "end of the series" feel, and really, given how angry a lot of the comic fans seem to be with X3, I dunno if it'd make much money >.>

I dunno. If I were Rogue, I would have done it.... XD And given how her character was portrayed in the movies, it made perfect sense :: shrugs :: But if Magneto might get his power back, maybe Rogue could, too.... XD It seems silly that this could actually change their DNA so rapidly, especially since the mutant it came from only suppresses mutation, not erases it completely. Remember, Hank's hand turned back again after he left his "aura" or whatever it was.

Why yes, Xalia and I did discuss the technical aspects of the plot on the way out of the theater >.> How could you tell?

My husband and I did too, and he mentioned the exact same thing- the "cure" was a suppressant that was being proclaimed a cure. They obviously hadn't had enough testing to prove that the effect was permeanent, especially as his son was going to be the first one they used the "cure" on!

JJ (my hubby), fully believes they'll get their powers back after awhile, but not that they'll make another movie. This is supposed to be the last in this set. Though there are plans for a Wolverine movie and possibly a Magneto movie, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a few other individuals get their own movies before long.

Edit: and definitely go back for the after credits scene!

I don't know; I would guess the Wolverine would be a prequel, I don't remember what JJ said. He knows a lot more about them then I do, I think the Magneto one is more in preplanning than actually started, but I could be wrong.

I think that the #1 reason I did not like the movie as much as the others was the ways they totally fracked with all the characters. Rogue doesn't end up with (non-existant) Gambit, they leave it ambiguous as to whether Bobby and Kitty hook up or not, and SCOTT, my luffly boi toi scott, was hardly in the movie at all. VERY disappointing. I agree on the whole Jean Gray is annoying so I'm not that sad thing, and I understand why Rogue did what she did, but noooo, does that mean that she leaves her mutant friends forever? Best redeeming characteristic of the movie was that Storm looked badazz the whole time. And had awesome hair.
