Eep...

Post by Starburst »

I felt like I needed to let someone know about this, and you moderator peoples can move it or delete it if you so desire. And don't worry, it's not a really huge deal for anyone here except me. Read on.

In phys. ed. class today, we were playing indoor soccer, which was crazy chaotic fun at the beginning. But when my friend was going to kick the ball away from another guy, he missed it, slipped and landed flat on his back on the hard floor. He had to go to the hospital, and the last I heard from him, he couldn't even stand up.

And I'm a worry-wart, so much so that it's probably going to drive me to an early grave. x_x This is supposed to be some kind of self-therapy - sometimes it helps me just to tell someone, and even though I've told a few people in real life, I figured I'd tell you guys too for no particular reason.

I'm still not sure if he's okay, because I haven't heard from him since this whole crapload of events happened. (Little note: I rely heavily on my friends. If something happens to one or more of them, I don't take it well. Hence this long-ish post.)

Aww man. I hope he winds up okay, Star'! ;.; Sending of the healing-vibes to him, for sure.

*hugs* I hope you feel better, too! That's no fun to have to sit and wait through.

Oh jeez, I hope they're all right. I would think it's not all that bad, it'd be remarkably hard to paralyse youself on a flat surface, but I've hit myself pretty hard on the tailbone before and that's *very* hard to recover from in the short-term. Just painful, though, not life threatening. *hugs*

Call me stupid but I fell into the bathtub once and sprained/did something painful my tailbone. It was paaaaaiiinnn. XD

And he didn't look paralysed to me, probably just stunned. But even so, I'm still worried, because that's my job. ^^;

-hugs- ;-; ouch. poor him. X.x I hope he's okay, and didn't do anything permanent to his spine. but like shard said, that's really hard to do. Specially on guys, because they tend to have more muscular backs,and if you've noticed, spines are actually inwards on most people.:/ so hopefully his actual back cushioned his fall.

X.x bathtubs are nasty though. I once had this spasm-siezure type thing when iwas home alone, and hit my head on the side of the tub, on this jutting-out soap dish thing on the wall. ._. i woke up and the water was red. X.x if there'd been more than the half an inch in the damn tub, i probably wou;d've drowned. and now i hate bathtubs. ._. but the head wound was superficial, and i'm good and healthy. except for the sanity thing.

Well... One time I slipped on a mop and landed flat on my shoulder. Knocked the wind out of me and made my arm numb for a few days, but I recovered. He might've gone through the same. *hugs*

Well, I just heard back from my friend. He's fine, so I'm relieved. (He's damned accident prone. I swear he's under some kind of curse. More accident prone than myself, who stubs her toe on every solid object she passes and slips on everything that can possibly be slipped on.)

So, yeah. Whee. I can get back to paging my gazillion White River Weyr and Danachian dragons now. >.<

Heh, this is why anything physical is BAD! :lol:
I mean, just look at Douglas Adams, running on a treadmill, getting in shape and fit; and now he's dead because of it. Of course I have a heart condition that keeps me from doing anyhting, so I might be biased, but people need to learn that you gotta take it easy.

Feh, it's a bonding ritual. We type. We must share the pain. :)
