Should I leave length out of the new Size Chart, and let people calculate it on their own with the height:length ratio, or should I include it and have more complex charts?

You'd think that, at that size, they'd be far too large to bother even noticing humanoid-races, let alone getting pissed off with them. Frick, that's like putting a jumbo-jet on end and comparing for height!

XD They're not so much pissed off at them as they are squishing ants in their playground.

Hmm...so without the necks they'd lose, what, half that height, or closer to a third? X3 D'you want 'em on the chart?

Close to a third but not far from half. :3 Like... inbetween those two. I'm bad with math.

And if you could find one that'd fit on there I would. XD

That'd be fine, Kat. I just didn't know if I should break them down with different abbreviations or just use like....RI or something. XD
Database Being Revamped

'Epic' is most concisely defined as something that, were you to do it in view of a person in real life, they'd pretty much have to sleep with you immediately to maintain order in the universe.
I sneezed. It seems to have reshaped reality. My bad.

Mys: Two fifths? X3 Um, I dunno, I'm bad at math too!

1/2 - 0.5
2/5 - 0.4
1/3 - 0.3333

X3 That work? Heck, I'd be thrilled to put 'em on. Want them split up into Basic to Chaos? How big is each rank? I'm assuming that 30-tall was Basic, and the 80 was Chaos...

And what do you want their title to be? Just... Hydras? HY?

DF: RI would work; the abbreviation doesn't mean much, it's just the code I use to link it to the charts at the top that say who falls into what category. ^__^

o.O Uh... I guess? I dunno much about ratios.

I should really do a chart with all of them and the size split. As for this chart, just a Chaos would do. :3 The biggest and baddest.

HY sounds good.

Oh! I meant for the text-chart. :3 Like I've got 'Makanan' and 'Piralan' and such, d'you want me to list yours down as 'Basic' to 'Chaos'? I could put them under the heading 'all', but that's a big range. XD

O.O Ack! I screwed up! That's the total height, not the shoulder height!

>.< This is what I get for working without a brain.

Okay, new heights are as follows:

Basic - 13
Greater - 15
Soldier - 18
Imperial - 24
Majestic - 28
Chaos - 32

Treval's site should be up to date with the images for height thus far, Kat. If you want to snatch/alter the images on the site go ahead. I haven't finished the info for them all but there heights (and I think lengths) are on there images.

And...I don't know about other people, but Falas I know has the foot long Pernese chart - guess you could classify that as Falasian Pernese/Old World. *shrug* There is a chart for all the other lengths on the same page, too.

I think thats all I can contribute until I get to the LSI Alskyrian dragons. :)

Oh, and I say leave length in because there are some species that are just plain long (at least in Anar...like the kijana) and I will eventually have there own ratios...*shrugs* Of course, Treval will eventually have all that information for them but...my two cents...

Go under Dragon Species and it has a list of all the dragons so far. Only the common Elemental dragons, the Ortari-kion, are not listed yet because I have no images for them. Pern stats are under Hatching Sands and Dragon information...I need to take shower...will come back later.

Yakima, if you want your dragons on there, I need more information from you: what title you want them to be under (Anarian Dragons, or Anarian Ancients, Anarian Common, etc) and what letter abbreviations you want. Also, a height:length:wingspan ratio is something I need, as if you don't give it to me, I'm apt to estimate, and my estimation skillz are bad. X3

The images that are provided, I may not do much with -- they're not really standing in a position that I can work very well with. I get confused when they're not on all-fours, I'm afraid. ^^;

I do love that your measurements are to the shoulder already, though. X3 Yay!

Eee, totally cool ^__^ EN for Enkeyn all the way, baby!

I'm going to sit down with some graph paper and figure out all the measurements, but I'll get back to you when I know what they are!

Then forget it. I don't have time/inspiration to put all that info up for you. I have the information at Treval - that's all that's needed.

::cackles:: holy crap, some of these dragons are heuuuuge!

XD I was rereading some info on Pern stuff.. I know McCaffrey made a mistake on Ramoth's length originally, but it still makes me laugh. I mean, huge dragons... they seem funny to me... I mean... how do you feed a population of 80-foot-tall dragons? XD They'd eat a whole planet's population in a matter of days! Plus, they'd better live on a sturdy place or they'd crunch open the ground every time they walked X3 And any human-sized rider, of course, would be only as big as the dragon's toe XDDDDD

P.S. does this work? ;___;

http://www.splintyr.com/artdump/schattiehanzhie.gif

::still working on ratios n' stuff::

I THINK Schatties are usually 1.5 to 2 X as long as they are tall... so a 14'-tall Schattie will be about 21'-28' long. x____o I'm sorry, I'm math-retarded... what ratio is that? Leaving out wingspan for now...

So it looks like Schatties are:

Ratio:
1:1.5:2
(body length anywhere from 1.5 to 2 times height - average is 1.5, so I left it at 1.5 for ease. Wingspan is a little larger than length.)

Height (at head):
Males 10' - 15'
Females 9' - 13'

Length:
Males 15' - 21'
Females 16' - 20'

Wingspan:
20'-30'

I'd class them at medium-small, personally, but it's up to you in the end X3 Hanzhineki, the subspecies, are averagely the same size as the Schatties, but they're wingless, so of course they don't have wingspans XD

And here's my outline thing!

Welp, your decision, Yakima. ^^ It'd be cool to have them but I can't make up species information for your own creatures for you. If you want to provide that information in the future (and honest, all you'd need to put thought into is the ratio), you're very welcome to.

Sky, EN reserved for yous! X3

Lakota: I actually have a dragon/rider pair where the rider IS the size of the dragon's toe. Hedoro and Cheran'khan, baby.

That's lovely! D'you mind if I stick a chart in the back like on the other size-chart-thingies, just so people have a visual reference? I can do it for you; no problem.

Bwahahaa! Perfect sizes, etc! ^__^ Thank you. I'll have 'em up sooner than later.

And your random images rock my small world. XD

I have no way to make a real size chart, I loaded that one up, but that's a completely haphazard selection of Kshau pieces. Since I do more hybrids than anything else it'd be hard to say any consistant sizes for mine.

Ferilons are little though! :) Down about bigger than a Terigon, not as tall as an Ojee.... :D

Hee hee, it'd be funny if non-dragon species were included too.. Samanayrs would have their own teeny-tiny category XD
