All of the GEN12 lot are cousins, since their parents were siblings. So Rohoya's Moren's nephew, I think. X3

There isn't currently a deadline, since I'm still colouring the adults for the next gen--which means that I won't be putting a new clutch up if, for some reason, I put out the GEN12R right away! (D: You guys have caught up to me! Noooo!) So I'm trying to procrastinate that all away. XD

There's one spot left, actually, unless I'm miscounting things! After that's filled, I'll let people know... but I probably won't have it out by this weekend. Hopefully the next!

ah, bugger. I was just in the process of saying that Sera had sent in the last dragon when the kitten went and stepped on my power bar (and swiftly realized what a mistake that was! >:|) so I had to restart my computer. It took so long that I forgot what I had been doing before the surprise-reboot... Lakota, can I bump you to the next clutch?

Or, if not, Sera, since you're the only one who submitted a suggestion-sheet, can I switch Lakota's story and bump you to the next one?

I don't wanna sound like a pushy-snot, but the main reason I'd love to stay in on this clutch is that Dan came back with a wingless dragon, and this clutch'd match perfectly with the one from the Abstract Destiny x__x that way Dan and Hojji's dragons could be siblings of a sort, if that makes sense :/ And also, I did kinda write the story with this clutch in mind, though I guess that's easy enough to change! Up to you in the end, I guess, Dray, or whatever Sera would prefer :/

*whaps Lakota with a big wiffle bat* XD Next time, don't send it in so close under the deadline! This is the second time I've had to poke people to see if they mind being bumped out for you!

I'm still waiting on Sera to see if she is okay with it.

After this, I'm going to make the deadlines a little longer, so that (hopefully!) there won't be as much of this last-second-story stuff going on! ^^;

... ya know, future Red generations're gonna be wingless, too, right? XD Lakota could always wait until the next Red generation.

I dunno that longer deadlines'll help, Terry XD A lot of people are just last-minute people

I may just move to mimick Phe, sort of, so that I have a set number of dragons, but if more people apply before the deadline, I'll just add s'more in. X3 That would make more sense, OOC. And since this whole thing is a big mess, in-character, I may as well, right? Perhaps I'll start that with the next clutch. >.> I don't want to put in any more stats/template-colouring work for this one, frankly.

O.o What do you mean? It was the first one I got!

On a different note, I'm thinking of doing one or a couple things to change how the BWR runs. either I'll extend the deadline and/or make the agency deadline based. The former means that clutches will go out more slowly, but people will have more time to submit things. The latter means that I won't be able to show preview pages at /all/, since I'll be creating the dragons as the candidates come in, not before. I may or may not replace the preview-page with a list of candidates--I really don't enjoy updating candidates-pages, but I understand how people like to see who's there already, and more importantly, how many spaces are left (if the latest clutch is egg-count based!) That said, I'm giving an advanced warning that the page will probably see a lot of inconsitencies, as I forget to update and/or neglect the dang thing. XD Just so I can say "I told j00 so!" later on when I mess up something or other!

The next few clutches will kind of vary in deadline and/or clutch size as I experiment and find a new equilibrium. ^^; Please bear with me, and if you see anything that might help solve various problems, let me know!

You might try doing a "Last updated: ____" on each page if you think there will be a problem with inconsistencies. At least that way people will know if a particular page is up-to-date (assuming you remember to update the date! ^^) I've tried this myself... it can be tedious, but... The alternative is a general state of confusion.

And um, my vote is for extended deadlines... I keep wanting to write at the very least an intro story, even for my sponsors, that coincides the storybits you put up. But... worried about making it in time, I 'settle' for a Sponsor Stats type application, hoping I'll get to my story later. XD; I think this would solve the problem that Lakota faced, when getting the submission in late because she was writing her story.

Another suggestion could be... if someone wants to write a story, they can send in an application right away, then write the story up until the deadline. The dragon they receive would be the same dragon either way... but could have 'better' stats if the story gets written... sort of like the cyborware token thing (earning major/moderate vs. minor tokens). If you see what I'm getting at? ^^;

Whatever you decide, Terry... I'll still be here slobbering aaallll over my BWR dragons! =D

I vote for the extended deadlines too. Personally, I like the way the BWR is run. It's different and it's interesting. Also gives us an idea of what to write for.

I really like how it's being run now too. It's the model for what I would like to do eventually, I think you've got the right idea. Perhaps just extend the deadlines and don't release a clutch until it's good and ready. Maybe if a clutch fills really quickly that'd give you time to use the deadline yourself, to make a 'by the way these are the links to the applicants' page or something, to keep *us* informed too. And that way of course, if there IS time, others might jump in and give it that feel of oldschool clutch competition. :) Because yes, if we all could, I'm positive we'd compete. :D

How do you mean 'better' stats, Neishai? I think I get the idea you're putting across, but I'm not sure what I can reward people with, that way, if they're still getting the same image.

I think she probably means like Sil's number ranking that I believe was also used in the AOWBP -- rankings range from 10 to 20 and a higher ranking denotes a more powerful dragon.

Well... honestly it was an idea that just occurred to me. But I was thinking that you can assign dragons right off the bat - I think they're generally paired off based on writer's preference and personality? So assuming the dragon is already assigned, say the person writes/finishes a story, so you reward them by giving the dragon stronger stats... maybe make the dragon a stronger mage, able to shift better (say instead of just shifting their looks, they can do a full shift, or alter their size as well), or make them bigger or stronger. Something like that. *shrug*

Brainstorming is fun! O.o

But I do agree with the general feeling that BWR works fine as is, or with little change. But since you were thinking of making a bit of a change, I had those suggestions. I'm not saying that you should change how anything is done, in other words. :3

Yeah, pretty much! Something like Sil's system could work with what I suggest. *nod nod*

But again, I'm not saying you should necessarily change anything from how it is. >>

XD I think I'll skip the number-rank system. With the OABP I had a lot of people who got upset by the rank-systems... they wanted to know exactly how I 'graded' them, like I used a formula or something... when in reality I was just giving them a rank based on how I liked it--something I can't really break apart like they wanted. I don't know if Sil got the same problems or not, but I'm kind of put off of using that system from those results... (I guess I should start up the OABP again... >.< But I'm hesitant to for those reasons.)

Anyways, I think I understand what you're saying... instead of colour-rankings, have other kinds. I'll see what I can tweak to work that in, though right now it's kind of a vague mixture of both kinds.... I like to leave it up to the people who get their dragons just how strong or weak they want their abilities to be. Hopefully, if they make an amazingly-talented shifter (for example) it'll have some back-story to show them practicing! A written montage, I guess! XDD

i think perhaps a slight extension to the deadline length might be appreciated, but, for the most part, i love how quickly these turn over. ^^;;;;

i do think 'last update' might help out and. . . wot's wrong with ppl turning in apps and having to add story by the deadline? hehe i guess, in my head, you'd just do it the same way as now, only. . . . uhm. . . you know. . .

right. sera's brain just literally shutdown. basically i don't see why the stats have to be better or the dragon more powerful. . . ^^;;; of course, perhaps i'm not entirely clear on how the dragons get passed out now. . . xD;;;

The way that I hand out dragons, now, is that I match up a dragon to a character based on the person's preference. Those who wrote stories get matched up first, so they're more likely to get their first choice. Then I match up the stats pages... so they're not as likely to get their first choice. Lastly, I pair up the suggestion-forms with whatever is left over, so depending on if you're lucky or not, you /might/ get what you want, but you very likely won't.

Other then that, there isn't a lot of rhyme or reason about it. I don't care if the stories are really short or really long. Spell-checking before posting said story is a /big/ help, and making sure that it's readable (font-colours aren't too similar to the background, the page is navigable from whatever link you gave me in the form, etc.) I do tend to lose interest in very long stories, though, especially if I'm coming up on the hatching deadline and it feels like the person who's writing is just repeating themselves over and over again. ^_^ Generally, I haven't really come across that problem with this agency yet, though.
