Vatkari are of the Nocturnus Clan of Kien-Valminar, the stronger strain having the shifting ability of most of their kind. These are the weaker strain, defined by their stockier build and only four fingers instead of five. Most other common abilities are Shadow, Earth, Lunar, and a rather unique talent with sound.
Unlike most of the other dragons, they have their own tongue if it can be called such, consisting of a series of high-pitched sounds to get basic messages across. They are also capable of using ecolocation, though their eyesight is actually quite good including in the night. A magic unique to them, they are able to amplify or transmit sounds, though not to the point of being destructive with it.
Despite their stocky build they are fairly good flyers, though usually low-flying, with better stamina than speed though are by no means slow. Surprisingly they are quite agile, a trait gained from living in mountain caves or many rocky areas.
Names usually consist of the
First Name ve Mother's Last Name of the line of Father's Last Name, though there are exceptions.
They are mammalian, and give livebirth, usually working together to raise any young in a clan society. Please remember they are not compatible with Pernese or Xenodragons. Usually the head plating is red...the other color(s) do(n't) mean anything, except that the dragon got recessive traits.
