And today's update, the most important one ever:

IT'S BACK!

So that means URLs and so on will work again now.

However, over the next week or so I'm gonna be transferring everything onto shiolar.merseine.nu. So everyone I've ever had dragons from look out for some fresh URLs. I'll be setting up redirects and such on Invisionfree as well, so old URLs will just go to the new place.

And then I'll get moving on the writing of Candidates and the hatching of dragons again.

And today we have a hatching! Enjoy!

http://shiolar.merseine.nu/mirus/archive06hatching.htm

The pickup page is linked from the hatching story, and the images are due up on the 25th February 2006. They only have one stage, so they can go out and breed as soon as they're up.

There's also a new litter available. I've redone the images for the Mirus / Lemur Dragon hybrids, so I'm going to try it again. The litter is open to all bonders, sponsors and characters that have already bonded. I'd prefer for them to have some sort of story, but it's not essential.

Information and application form is available at http://shiolar.merseine.nu/mirus/nests.htm

And a sample of the newly updated images are:

Youngling

Adult

As you can see, I've used a slightly different colouring technique on these, but I'm quite pleased with the result. The one shown here is the one I intend to keep for myself, and he's based on the Red-Ruffed Lemur, like his father. The offspring will have lemur colourations and Mirus colourations.

Yaay twice! Or really three times! :) In the time between way back and now, I'd forgotten what I was going to do for one of those gorgeous lemurdragons but I think I'm regaining my memory. :D

Well now that they all have dragons, she'll at least be able to provoke them into going off and seeing about that ... divorce they've been wanting from each other. :D

(and your new style for colouring is really cool, too! Bold, trying lineless, but it works!)

I'm glad you like, Dray. :)

I'm thinking of sticking with the lineless-ness... Although technically the lines are just on 15% opacity... But I like the look... I'm glad others do too... it was something of an experiment for me...

I like the new ones a lot, but I really of liked your old ones too ... I don't think you should do away with the lines altogether because I thought your style was really nifty. The new style is great too though! Perhaps some combination of the two?

The new style isn't massively changed from the old one... My lines are just really really transparent now... But... I dunno. I'll prolly play around with some more images and see what looks best in the long run.

More update-ness... sorta.

Firstly, a general reminder for the dragons from the most recent hatching - they're due up on the 25th, which is in two days. If they're not up and you haven't asked for an extension, they'll be abandoned. Feel free to ask for extensions now, if you need them.

Secondly, there's a little over a week remaining until the deadline for Candidates for the Lemur Dragons. I haven't received any Candidates yet, though, but I don't want to move the deadline if I can avoid it.

And lastly, I'm starting to think about what I want to do after the Lemur Dragons have bonded, and I have decided that I want to do a little generations project, because I love the idea of watching traits carry down through multiple generations (or not as the case may be). The theme is fluff/fur.

The plan is to have some fluffy draconic volunteers to breed at Mirus, with resulting fluffy litters/clutches. Everybody with any involvement in the creation of said fluffy babies (read that as the owners of the parents and the artists of the parents) get a spot reserved for them. And I keep one to breed from for the next generation.

All the others will be open for bonding, sponsoring and so on. The restrictions will be pretty much non-existant, save for bonders/sponsorers with stories getting precedence on the high rankers (or the cutest/prettiest ones, whichever is appropriate). There'll be a limited clutch/litter size, and it'll close on the predetermined deadline or when all the spots are filled, whichever comes first. Spare fluffy babies will be given out to the owners and artists of the parents, if they want them.

So, is anybody interested in volunteering their fluffballs?

*waves arms* My main computer (the one which I keep all my pictures and stories on) is currently down, and it's a bit difficult for me to get Solaru up. I fully intend to send Dantas in for the lemur clutch, as well, but, for the same reason, it's gonna take awhile. So...extension, please?

Any fluff is welcome, from simple manes and tail-tufts right through to complete balls of fuzz. Broadly speaking, the fluffier the better, but small amounts of fluff combined with interesting features are also welcome and wanted.

Yaay sweet!

Don't forget I am stilly going to be running the Furry Festival at some point after I've hatched.... all that other crap I have left to hatch... :/

My mirus babies are almost up. I've been working on the page for the daycare center one, and made a great little doll from the palace with the candybar and some additions for hir semi-human shifted shape. :D So expect that to be up shortly, and I thought I'd already put up Scarlett's but apparently I haven't - I'm in the middle of writing their split story so expect a LOT of changes on THAT page. :) When I get home, that's my list of to-dos.

Wow, that's a lot, Dray... *goes browsing* For the form, while I think of it:

Your name:
Your email:
Dragon's name:
Dragon's gender:
Dragon's species:
Dragon's colour:
Dragon's URL:
Dragon's artist (if not obvious or not you):
Other comments (particularly genetics):

As it happens, because of the way I've had to run Mirus thusfar, it can be mostly IC, if not completely... I have plot things to go with it, but the short version is that time is a bit... fractured in Mirus' little mini-universe, so it's quite easy to make it all fit in. (I've got a dragon who will probably be bonding before he's actually born, after all...)
