Free Sites

A friend directed me to this page recently. It lists a bunch of 'free' web services. I put the 'free' in brackets because I'm skepitcal about how good they are compared to Geocities. So far, I'm thinking Hostlix is the best out of the bunch, but I'm not sure.

I really want to move away from Geocities soon but can't afford my own space. Anyone want to help me search through this list?

You know...I've got a huge site that I'm not really using anywhere close to all of. If your site isn't too huge I might be able to host it on my site...how much space are you looking for?

Well Geocities gives 15 MB on each site, right? And I have five sites that I want to move, so that's... 75 MB. Plus space to add more stuff. I'm just so sick of making new sites everytime I use up all my space.

Interested? I can set you up with a subdomain and FTP permissions and such...

I don't remember exactly how much bandwidth I get with my site, but I remember it being an amount I never thought I'd actually use. The chat room does use a lot of bandwidth, but I'm pretty sure I still have plenty left. I want to say it's something like 20,000 MB and I'm using 8,000 with my site and the chat, so running a set of sites on top of mine shouldn't hurt me too bad.

I don't think it'll be a problem...

Wow that's alot of space Xalia!

Personly I haven't moved from geocities because I'm far to parinoid of losing all my work. Sometimes payed hosting is just evil like that!
