Ok, so you're thinking, geeze, DF does so much stuff, and she's already behind....
Well, not -too- far, since there's some things that are still pretty far along, and others that are going slowly....

And plus, I've been thinking about this for awhile now.

So what's the deal?

DF's Obligatory Story-Esque Plotline Summary Bit

Alongside all the other work they've been doing, the Sanctuary of the Sun has noticed a significant change in not just the Citadel of Shadows, but the entire Meyan region. And through alot of work on the part of both sides, in the spirit of mutual benefit, they have come to a sort of truce, along with some other arrangements, though they still remain Dark/Light split, so to speak.

With that in mind, the higher-ups from both sides have been planning something, though the information is being carefully guarded and released only as planned.

Thus, each side is actively seeking out potential individuals for this project, and though they have different means to do so, it is all for the same, albeit unknown, purpose.

This is somewhere between a giveaway and a regular clutch. There will be a page for it, after awhile, but not yet because I'm busy.
It will be run much like the Abstract Destiny, in that there are an unlimited number of babies available, but as they say, quality over quantity.

This special event celebrates a number of things happening in my life, the biggest obviously being my moving and my new job. So I figured now was a good time to at least announce it.

The deadline for all submissions is March 11th!

The Rules & Stuff

() You may submit as many candidates as you like, and you are guaranteed at least one....well, I'll say dragon, but whether or not that's what it is....heheh....anyway. At least one dragon.

() Unlike some of my other stuff, a story is required for this. It can be as long or as short as you want. Heck, even a single paragraph. But there has to be one. I also like stats sheets, but they are only necessary if you want to include them. Please note that you may submit multiple candidates on one story if they go together. Please note that the effort you put into your story is what matters to me, and can affect your resulting dragon or dragons.

() It is uncertain if the dragons in this event will bond or be sponsored, or if there will be a bit of both. If you don't want your candidate to do one or the other, please indicate so.

() Candidates here, as normal, cannot be standing anywhere else. EDIT: Yes, I will permit multiple bondings if you wish to submit a character that already has one.

Otherwise, there's pretty much nothing else special. Feel free to ask questions about rules if you have them.

Please note that there are no restrictions to the type of creatures or people that can be submitted here, unless there is a restriction on the creature itself from another creator. Alignment can also be anything - as both Citadel and Sanctuary are working co-op for this, you can pretty much fit in anyone or anything.

For those of you who want more information for stories, here's some things to work with - specifically, some stuff that doesn't yet appear on the Sanctuary/Citadel pages. BTW, this information is good for use for any candidate you might want to send me, not just for this. ^_~

The Citadel of Shadows: Run by Mishuvel (no last name given). The place was once her private home, but it expanded and is now home to far more than that. The ranks of the Citadel have always included travelers and the like, though they tend to be wary of letting just anyone in (at least, without an escort). The area is very secluded, with Mishuvel's personal towers right on the edge of a cliff, which drops straight down to the ocean. The sky is almost always a smokey sort of overcast, due to some volcanic activity in the region. Much of the Meyan region as a whole is very barren. One major thing to note is that the Citadel is on the island of Kaiu, which is otherwise utterly devoid of any other settlements. It sits across from the Meyan 'mainland', Anuh, which is where one will find the general Malakym population, including the capital city of Shade. The island of Sohu, to the west of Kaiu, has no civilized areas at all, and is known for its strange variety of monstrous sorts of creatures.

The Sanctuary of the Sun: Far bigger than the Citadel, the Sanctuary was built specifically to house and train dragon knights for the Order of the Dragon. It is practically a self-reliant city, due to its location on Mereth, and island very much isolated from the rest of the world - accessible only by dragon flight, or a very long trip by ship. Chalice is in charge of most of the Sanctuary, and generally keeps everything running smoothly. There is no other civilized area on Mereth, though the land is lush and green. Some visitors to the Sanctuary come to take hikes around the island, since it is also the site of some rather spectacular ruins - the remains of the City of the Moon, Amarahiran, which was destroyed during the First Shadow War. They have been untouched since that time, simply as a show of respect to the dead.

The White Maiden: The White Maiden is not a location, like the first two, but a ship which sails all around the world. While they perform other tasks, the ship was recently commissioned with the ongoing task of searching for individuals to take to either the Citadel or the Sanctuary. (The commission was from both sides as a combined effort.) While the ship only sails the oceans of Kynn, it is not uncommon for part of the crew to be offworld at any given time, performing a search of sorts. (Some of the crew members actually have their own dragons, and are more often the ones that travel offworld.) Some of the more well-known members of the crew are as follows (please note that many crewmembers on the Maiden use aliases, so only those are listed).
Tempest: The White Maiden's Captain, a Sun Elf with a great sense of humor. She rarely travels offworld herself. (Sonokyrago Nightspark)
Gray: Tempest's First Mate, and her most trusted advisor. A Moon Elf known for his more 'mysterious' nature, he dresses in colors much like his name, and avoids sunlight entirely. (Inazuko Friskers)
Midnight: One of the regular crew, and a Night Elf, Midnight tends to avoid sunlight, but only because it hurts her eyes. Very quiet, and tries to be as unobtrusive as she can. (Turix Corollary)
Rekiki: The Chief Engineer, despite the fact that she's a rather young, human girl. Full of energy, loves surprises, and has great organizational skills. (Elilos Friskers)
Sou: Another member of the crew, Sou is surprisingly tall and strong for an elf. He's always up for a good laugh, if you can find a joke he hasn't heard before. (Ank-Ahr)
Vision: A scholar and a bookworm, Vision is. Another elf (the White Maiden is well known for having an almost-entirely elven crew) but a bit less-able-bodied than the others, she instead takes care of all the mundane paperwork that even Tempest likes to avoid. (Ajit)

Please feel free to use these characters in stories, or any me about them further. I dunno why I felt the urge to type that before my computer got put away for moving, but eh.

Remember, please read the rules, and have fun with this. Trust me, I'm sure you'll all -love- the results of my evilness - ah, er, I mean....creativity. Yeah, that's it. XD

It's been almost a week so here's a better plot-esque summary of the last announcement, as well as the next one.

First Rumor - 01/27/06
Information seems to indicate that there may well be a third party of sorts working alongside the Citadel and Sanctuary. Unfortunately, Chalice and Mishuvel are keeping very tight control over released information, and as such, no one can make an educated guess about who this third party mught be.

Second Rumor - 02/01/06
The rumor of the third party has been confirmed by both Chalice and Mishuvel, as they have requested that all interested candidates submit something belonging to themselves. Statements indicate that this request is at the behest of the still-unknown third party, as a gesture of good faith and commitment to the project. (This request ranges through just about anything - from an object belonging to the individual, to even a biological aspect of the individual, such as a lock of hair.) Items will be returned at the conclusion of the event, if applicable and possible.

(Next week you might get part of a teaser image. >3)

Edit: Please note that these 'rumors' are designed both to tease you into applying, and to provide story material for the inclined, but remember - you don't -have- to use them. :)

Please note that I have updated my submission rules to reflect the opinions displayed in the discussion we've been having recently. People like the ability to get more than one bond? I can deal with that. (I like it too.) Therefore, the rules have been editted to reflect this - you may indeed submit bonder candidates that already have a bond. ^_^

I just finally got put on a contract at work but I can't start on the coding for like another week, so I web surf between reading the work files. :)

Gonna try to write some stuff today for my needed candidates so I can finish my frenzy stuff and dragon posting this weekend. Crossing fingers, anyway.

Third Rumor - 02/12/06
Doesn't seem like this will be any average hatching, as at least one of the creatures, whatever they might be, is already out and about, somewhere in the Sanctuary of the Sun. Whether this was intentional or not, no one can say, as there has been no indicationof where the creatures (or eggs, if they're still in them) might actually be housed.
Sweeps of both Sanctuary and Citadel by curious individuals thus far has turned up nothing else....

Sightings at the Sanctuary include the following.
- A small set of footprints - quadrupedal, with clawed, dragonlike feet three toes each - around the hatchings sands, as well as in the training area of the Order of the Dragon. All sets appeared while the areas were vacant, and the tracks all start and stop abruptly - indicating that the young creature can already fly, or perhaps access some other form of transportation.
- A feather which could not be identified as coming from any of the Sanctuary dragons (or any nearby species of bird) was found by several children at play.
- A pair of dating teenagers spotted a strange sillouette peeping out at them from behind a fountain as they were heading out on a date. Investigation by both individuals turned up nothing - not even footprints.

Hasn't really been any commentary on it, that's why I was concerned. I certainly don't expect hopefuls until the deadline. ^^;;; Which might get pushed back if I can't find a bit of spare time on the side. ^^;

Had a little inspiration spurt. Just FYI, this event is looking to take me a bit longer than originally anticipated, so the deadline will be moved. It is now March 11th. It has been pushed by a week and might get pushed again, not sure yet.

Fourth Rumor - 02/24/06
Sightings of an individual interacting with both Chalice and Mishuvel on separate occasions has sparked the idea that this person is the mysterious 'third party' involved in the co-op event.
While no one outside of Chalice and Mishuvel have actually had a chance to speak or interact with this person, she has been seen for short periods at both the Sanctuary and the Citadel before vanishing mysteriously, as well.

The individual in question is female, standing at about 5'10''. She is described by most as looking like a cross between a Lunari and some sort of dragon, with blue scales, a long tail, blonde hair, and wings too small to fly. While she has been approached by no less than three individuals, she never speaks to anyone, and always seems to disappear the first chance she gets.

(You get a cookie if you recognize this individual by description alone. XD)

Figured I'd handle this now so I can stop updating and get working on what I need to finish for it. ^^;;;; Deadline might go back a bit more yet, but we'll see what I get through. Ehe. Anyway, this is -probably- going to be the final 'rumor' for any interested parties, since it's more like an announcement.... But there could easily be more before the finale. ^^;;; Never know.

Fifth (And Final) 'Rumor' - 2/27/06
Interested parties - those that submitted 'items' of their own as stated in #2 further up - will all be recieving a letter, regardless of where they are, and it could arrive in just about any manner, from being delivered in a normal fashion, to simply appearing conveniently.

The language is of the 'common' variety, for even individuals unfamiliar with such a language, if there are any, would be able to read it without issue. (All letters say the same thing, and if you are sending multiple candidates, please note that each will recieve a separate letter, regardless of how closely related the characters may be. Please note that these letters can be recieved up until two days before the time listed in the letter, so no 'last minute' showing up is permitted in stories unless you talk to me first. Please remember that Kynnese time-keeping does not correlate to real time, so even if I change my OOC deadline, the dates in the letter will remain constant.)

The letter itself is sealed with a mark in blue wax, and upon opening, the reader would be greeted with elegant script that reads as follows.

"Warmest greetings to you, dear reader. You have expressed an interest in the project currently in my care, by sending a belonging of yours to me via one of my contacts - either Mishuvel of the Citadel, or Chalice of the Sanctuary. From which it came does not matter to me. What matters to me is your interest and your commitment to what should be a historical event.

While I prefer to leave many details of my project a secret, I can't leave everything in the dark, or no one would know where to go. And I can't have that. So, here is what you need to know.

My project is not based at the Sanctuary of the Sun, nor is it based at the Citadel of Shadows. If it was, I would have been found already, I imagine. Instead, I have chosen my own home for this event, and I invite you to it. To reach it, however, you may need a bit of help.

My home is located in Seshei. And if you are not Kynnese, but one of these 'offworlders' we hear so much about these days, you may not be familiar with Kynn's topography. Seshei is the only city on Kynn which is found underwater. It is located west of Ilmendor, on the floor of the ocean, and tends to be not only difficult to find, but to access as well.

I have included a map within this letter, if you are one impetuous enough to reach the city on your own. However, if you require some form of transportation, speak with either Chalice or Mishuvel, and show them this letter. It confirms your involvement in my project, and they will be most helpful in this matter. They can arrange transportation for you.

Have no fear if you are unused to the prospect of an underwater city. Its intent of design was to permit land dwellers a way to better study and understand what lies beneath Kynn's seas, and also serves to better diplomatic relations with the Dalshari people.

Please arrive no later than the 17th day of the month of Oceanwave, otherwise I cannot guarantee your participation. Keep this letter with you when you travel, as several of my assistants will be available to aid you when you arrive - but only if you have this letter. Please do not lose it.

I look forward to meeting you and the others in person at last. See you soon!

The signature at the bottom of the letter is as artistic as the rest of the letter - perhaps even more so. There is no name, simply a set of initials, which read, 'DF'.

Further information regarding this segment of 'plot', if you will.

Seshei is supported by a combination of nature and magic, and has recently gained a bit of technology alongside it, all of which works to support the city. Due to its unique location and circumstances, the city is completely self-sufficient. Travel to and from the city is strictly regulated, as any upset in the local equilibrium can cause serious issues.

Travel to and from the city is very difficult, as mentioned, unless you are an offworlder with your own, reliable transport. Docking is available for sea-bound craft, as well as water-based dragons and the such. There is a permanent staff including several Dalshari, who regulate any necessary pressure changes with their unique talents in that style of magic. Teleport Circles to and from Seshei are also available for use from a few port cities in Ilmendor. Using these normally incurs a fee, but those attending this event that go through Mishuvel or Chalice for aid will have their travel fees paid for them. Regardless of the method of transportation, all visitors (and new residents) should expect to go through the equivalent of 'customs', to avoid any mishaps in the city.

The city is massive, and almost totally self-contained. Several levels below the city bring in and purify air and water through a mixed technological and magical process. Food is grown in special areas of these levels as well, and they are off limits except to their caretakers and technicians, but everyone knows they're there.

The rest of the city is far from sterile and artificial. It is always full of life and light, and glows something like a beacon on the ocean floor. (The depth at which Seshei sits is by no means pitch black, but has fairly adequate light and visibility.) With the light produced by natural and magical sources, visitors may be initially overwhelmed, as in many of the domes, the sea is visible just a wall away, so to speak. One can expect to see any manner of sea creatures, ranging anywhere from small fish to the Kynnese breeds of sharks and dolphins, to giant dragon-like sea serpents that sing much like whales might. Also inside the city are several districts, namely for business, religion, residence, and the like. (The 'religious' district is where one would go for healing if injured, as that would be where to find healers, and it isn't officially a 'religious' district, but can be refered to as such, as it contains at least shrines to all of the gods of the Kynnese pantheon, though some have small temples and larger followings.) There are also small land-based atriums about, for anyone who wants to see trees and grass. ^_~

No one is actually certain who is running the city, as everything just seems to fall in place. There is a city guard to keep the peace, but no one has really thought about who controls the politics. Keep in mind that Seshei is separate from all major Kynnese nations, and trades with all of them. This makes them not only very neutral, but very open-minded.

Noteworthy figures in Seshei, at the moment, are few - really only including the 'mysterous' individual that signed those letters, and the Blessed of Lilith (the Kynnese Goddess of the Sea). (Ask for more details if you need them.)

More time would be heavenly, yes o.o I should have been writing yesterday (I'd had two whole chapters on the schedule for yesterday ;.; ) but I was so braindead and spacey I couldn't do anything but play video games ^^'

I don't know how much more time to ask for, but I know I have not only this, but the bipedra, and synth 08 at the AD, to finish in the next couple weeks o.o It's rather a busy month, innit? XD

I could probably use more time too...since I don't ever seem to manage to write 'cept when I'm in the mood and have time at work and I have some plotness to get through before I can even start on my character's story for this...yeah...more time would be much appreciated! XD
