It's a local thing. Every county has their own word for the same thing, pretty much. About a hundred miles north of here, the word is 'chav', and even further north it's 'ned'.

For general stupid people, but not necessarily poor ones, we use the words 'muppet' and 'numpty'...

XD That is great, Shiolar. I can't think of any so wonderful regional insults from where I am...

Where do you live to get such wonderful ways to degrade someone? ^^

Down in southern England, I am... Just a couple miles from the south coast, actually. About... 200 miles west of London. Which reminds me... the word in London is 'div', and in Manchester it's 'minger'. I think 'plonker' is a nation-wide one, and... *tries to remember a few more*

Do these come and go every few years, or have they been long established regional insults? I guess it would make sense that England would have more cool regional insults having been around a dang long longer than the US....

They're fairly long established, I think, although how often they're used varies every few years.

Well, 'bollocks' is just a word for testicles... That's all there is to it.

Have to say I don't know the answer to that one. Course, "dog's bollocks" is seen as being a good thing. I'm not sure why that is, either...

*SNERK!*

Well, probably because dogs can lick theirs. And seem to enjoy it.

*LOL!!*
