So I was back on City of Heroes tonight. The moment I logged into Xfire (which is the only IM service I've thought about using, and pretty much only because of w00t) I get a pm from DJ Jester, the owner/operator of www.w00tradio.net.

He asks me to help with a couple adjstments he needs to make on the site (troubleshooting is easier with 2 people huh), but then after I've logged into COH and sprint off to find the w00t party on Champion....

So he ASKS ME WHEN I AM GONNA GET ON AS A DJ FOR HIM.

EEEEEEEE!

So I'm gonna try to pick up the equipment I need, talk to my friends James and Becky, to see if they could help out with the costs. It's a headset thing, mainly for teamspeak since they use it for communication outside of chatting. I have a huge selection of stuff they don't have on the station yet, like lots of Techno and such. EEEEEE again!

So hopefully by the new year? I might be online as a DJ for w00t!! You'll be able to hear me and stuff, wheeee! It's so weird because I was totally enamored of the idea of becoming a dj, but this just beats all, being ASKED.

They really need a late-night, and since I'm usually on until I crash and go to bed at midnight or later - that equates to 4 in the morning to most of their existing staff!

Yeah it's basically a done deal, all I need to do is like log on in team chat and download the software for the station...

But I also need to choose my DJ name.

DJ Retali8r - because I'm always on in Retail Retali8r when they're on but it's very masculine.

DJ Lethe - because they know me as lethe-gray on the w00t forums now. But training them to say it right will be more challenging than you'd think... And getting me to reply to it even more so lol.

DJ Zekira - because my global chat handle is currently Zekiran Immortal... I'm thinking this one, because of that. Meaning that I will have to change my global for the first and only time, and create a toon of it in like, 8 servers lol.

Woot's a streaming audio site, so you need either windows media player or itunes (or a similar compatable format) to do it. There are instructions on how to start listening on the site

If you can tune in any time during the day or whenever, that'd be great because we're trying to increase listener base anyway, and I'm definitely going to be spamming my more adult-oriented site groups to get more people in. heh.

They have a forum and stuff, everything is very new because the station's only been on air for about 3 months.

Now I will be searching for those pieces I need to complete my collection before starting up.

I even know what I want to play first, ELP's Karn Evil 9 part 1 & 2, that's 'my song'.

Not ready yet. I only have about 3 dozen of my 300+ cd's ripped so far, and some of them have to be redone because the rip sucked. Plus, I'm soooo nervous.

I have to get a better microphone - the headset one is just not gonna work, since I have to use it AND real headphones, because the headset with microphone is too big for my head.... I am guessing sometime after the new year, and it'll be 9-11 west coast time I think. I'm gonna try getting on earlier on the weekends, but I don't know what all they have already.

Heh!! That's funny!!

Right now, I'm not going to be able to participate, unless I just outright quit my job and stay at home... That's part of the problem of them being east coast, I got nothing cuz I'm still at work when they're going.

My DVD drive is fuxxored, too, so I'm having trouble ripping anything - even new cd's won't go right. Heck, i haven't even been regularly playing coh myself, which is a new one for me ...

I did just get my Auto Assault beta invite and played that earlier today. It's not a game I'll be buying but it's pretty cool none the less. I'd rather have it as a fps than a mmo game, if I had the time to learn how to use it and where the controls are, all that, I'd be happier with it.

Anyway I'm not likely going to be joining the Court which is a shame, but there's always a chance that I might just bail. I haven't updated my teamspeak unit yet (because the server crashed and we lost our info we have to apply new stuff) but once I do I'll be on I suppose. I'm still way overwhelmed with it, and I mean that in a kind of emotional way - I'm not used to this much pressure, and it's pretty hard to concentrate... :/

Awww.... *hugs Shard* That so sucks that you've got so much pressure put on you. And I know you you feel about computer mishaps. >.< The main comp, which has CoH on it, is in the shop. It up and died on us entirely.

:D If you do get a chance to hit x-fire or whatever party is going on during the Court, then give me a shout. I'll at least have w00t on to hear your Words of Wisedom(tm).
