Winter Exchange READY FOR PICKUP!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Post by Shard »

Well with the new year let's start things off right!

The Winter Gather exchange is finished!

Most folks got 2 large and 2 small images. Some only wanted large, some got just 1 and 2 because they were in the last batch. There *are* extras but not many (large anyway).

READY FOR PICKUP?! Well go get em! The bandwidth shouldn't go down, it's my paid acct and they have obscene amounts on em.

http://droppin-the-fork.com/winter/wg2k5.htm

Enjoy everyone! I tried to indicate where to link to, but a lot of people didn't give me a link locale so you're on your own. :) Where there's no info listed, none was given, so gender and other things are obviously up to you - until someone says otherwise. :)

Thanks everyone for participating this year! Now we wait for the Flurry... wheee!

What if we only want to get one or two dragons this year? I misplaced all last year's...and am dreading asking for them. Ooops.

I can go back and check which ones you got, and send em :) That's not a problem. If you want to specify that you only want 1 large, then that's what you can do. :)

You got Cupid reindeerdragon, the Forest-star fazzle, and the Gold-Red dragon from... someone who gave a ton :)

Sure, that's always an option. This year it's whichever way you'd like. I would presume that 'overflow' dragons will be given away at different times or to fill 'I WANT MORE' requests. :)

Shardles? Please forgive me for being blonde and stupid, but I just want to make sure 'fore I screw up because I didn't read something right (I do that a lot). This is SIMILAR to the "White Dragon" giveaway thing, yes? Except for we send the images directly to that email you listed, and they should be winter-themed, yesh?

Just wanted to check :D Thankies!

We don't choose numbers, though, she just gives 'em away at a certain point, on nice and pretty pages! XDD It's very easy, and much fun! :D

Yeah, that's it in a nutshell. I've done it 2 years now (well, 1 year took the requisite 2 years to do lol). So, please don't think that I'm stealing the idea from the white-dragon exchange, this is something that's been done before and now that I have a clue what I'm doing it'll go smoothly like it did last holiday.

Last year, I think it was pretty much anything goes, as long as it was winter colored/patterned. I know the sulanu I submitted was far from being a dragon

It's whatever you like to send, as long as it's a WINTER kind of theme (which INCLUDES the holidays of that time), and basically anything bigger than a 'flit' counts as a 'large' creature - UNLESS folks want me to add another category (medium) but I'd rather not.

Any holiday during winter, yes. :) What ARE you thinking? :D

It might be fun to have a batch of Lucia (sp?) dragons, with the lights on their heads, maybe a 12 days of Christmas, a batch of Hanukkah themes, etc too. Those are the ones I'd make exceptions for large groups.

Rar. Must DRAW! Fixing template... rar.

Anyways, is small/large IMAGE size, or CREATURE size?

Sizes kind of qualifies in two ways:

ONE - creature size. If the creature itself qualifies as a ridable thing, it's LARGE. If it's a flitter or some other attendant, unridable creature it's SMALL.

TWO - image size. For the 'large' images I just prefer that their pixel size be less than 700 wide - but it's not really essential. It's just easier to create a page with the specific less-than size, so I don't wind up with text overlapping the bg image and such. :)

Well.... Um.... I'm drawing... HAMSTER DRAGONS! (A friend's little sister was demanding one, and so... yeah.)

they're only five feet tall, and I'm not sure how that counts. Y'see, you can't ride them, but they are way bigger than your average filtts.

*wonders* Shard, is there any way to ask for certain kinds of dragons from this exchange, this year? :\ With my track-record and stupid-pickiness, I tend to come away from most that I enter being vaguely disappointed. >.< It just makes things so much funner when you /want/ to page a dragon, you know? If not, can I just submit a dragon or three and not recieve anything?

Sure, just make certain to tell me in your email. I will probably keep notes about that stuff while I'm assigning. We don't want you disappointed!!

I've run it in the past with literally "who donated a lot - assign them in order; who donated the next lot, assign them to the others; whoops they got their own; flitflitflitflitflitflit; newcomer gets something;" etc :D So if you do want something or DO NOT want something specific (like, hydra jesus or something... heh) please feel free to say so. I cannot guarantee that someone will fulfill the request but by all means let's try.

Well, since I've gotten basically no response to this, and the 15th is tomorrow... I guess unless everyone really bashes me with holiday cheer, there will not be a Winter Gather exchange this year.

Shard - I'd really love to participate, though I was confused as to if we were required to send in new template dragons or not.

Whatever you want to send, basically. The sizes are the only concern I had, not the content. :)
