Question...if we finish the drawing of another person's character within the deadline but not our own can we take a couple extra days to get that done or do /both/ images need to be up within a week?

>_>! In that case, throw up a stick-doodle! Your sketch doesn't have to be complicated, just give the basic idea! It may mean you don't get the best return-image, but I'd really rather not have any extensions. >.O It's already going to take forever to get down the current list, considering that everyone's probably going to use their entire week to get an image finished and posted...

We're not limited to the week of to draw our character either, are we? I know we can't just throw up a pic from six months ago, but could I say start my sketch of my character now? Then again I haven't even decided what character to use. Probably good ol' Averone because he's cool.

I was actually thinking that same thing Astra...got ideas to draw now but my week doesn't officially start until tomorrow...no one's going to be mad if I draw my character now, are they?

What I'm worried about is that people are going to spend ages and ages on their character sketch, and when it comes time to do their 'chosen one' (or whatever you'd like to call it), they'll put minimal effort into it. >.>" Your sketch really doesn't have to be that detailed... if you have a website for your character, you can always refer the person below you to it for more info! Lacking that, if you feel your sketch doesn't do the char justice, you can always write a short blurb (but please, keep it short, for those people out there who have difficulty translating between type and drawing!) to clarify a few points.

I can't keep you from finishing your sketch months ahead of time; it's not like I can say "Nyar, you finished this ahead of time! You're skipped!" because I cannae watch you... what I'd like to suggest is that you hold on until it's at least /almost/ your turn. If you're next in line, then it's probably alright to start spinning something out, but if you're last on the list and have up to four months to work on your image... then you can probably sit on it for a while.

Like I said before, I'm only restricting this so that people will put more of an emphasis on drawing /other/ people's characters, rather then their own. You can always go and finish up your sketch /later/, (and show it off in the Art&Writing forum! :D) but for this thread, holding out the art juice for others is the main point.

>_>" Gah, so wordy. Any questions still?

Nope, I think I'm okay now... :D I worked on a sketch today that took me a total of half an hour I think and I'll probably submit it when my turn comes around since I'm next...am /very/ proud of it...probably the best non-ref sketch I've /ever/ done! :D *ponders scanning it now to show off*

zomg I finished. Apologies for cutting it awfully close - I was at home, away from my glorious work scanner, and my evil house scanner ate its own drivers and died :/

Okay, I have a couple of (probably obvious) questions >_>

First, from my slot in line, am I drawing Dray's character, even though she just got one drawn..?

And second, what's the difference between digitigrade and.. the other one XD;

From what I gathered, you're drawing the person directly above you, when your turn comes, unless they skip or are skipped.

And plantigrade? That's using all of the foot to walk on, instead of digitgrade, which is using just the digits (toes) to walk on ^^

Yep, you'll be drawing me, Skysong, but not until I finish drawing for Phe, who has to do Astra who has to do Xalia... XDDD so, not for up to four weeks! (Unless people finish their images quicker'n a week each! *nudgenudgehinthint!*)

Okay, I understand now ^_^

So technically I could just post after every other person posts and get myself drawn over and over (provided that I was doing the required drawings as well)?

Yeah, I think so, Skysong...as soon as your images are posted you're free to sign up again whenever you like...but you're not allowed to sign up again until your turn comes and goes...is that right, Dray?

And I have no intention of using my full week unless I get super inspired and want to make the image more and more spectacular! Have ideas already... :D

X3 That's right, yep. You can jump in the line if you're not already waiting in it, but otherwise, you've got to keep you place! (that way there's not fifty posts saying 'me next!' that'll take years to get through!)

Does anyone mind if I make the DMC a sticky thread, just because we'll have to go back to it again and again?

Sounds like a good idea to me...keep it up top where we'll see it and remember to check it...otherwise we'll have to scroll way down until people start signing up again...

Ack, you guys can only step into line once; after that you have to wait for your turn to pass before you can take up a new spot! Just to let you know; I'm going to be deleting any double-posts that I find. :\ Not to be a heartless bitch, but to keep the line relatively short, so that people won't be waiting months and months!

XD Probably best to wait until your turn's coming around, but feel free to post random stuff about characters here, if you feel like rambling about them! ^_^' It doesn't have to be secret if you don't want it to, I suppose.

*snerk* Working on Lakota right now...have a pretty decent sketch that I like just have to get it home, ink it, scan it, and color it...if I can get a lot of my homework done tonight I should be able to work on it and hopefully have it up tonight or tomorrow... :D Then I just have to decide what character I want done of mine! o.O

My art classes are helping my drawing /so much/ though...I'm quite pleased! :D
