Take a look... There are two in the photobucket folder, Retail Retali8r's, and Barbed Lifeline's. Barbed is the proud leader of the "Little Rays of Sunshine" zombie mastermind supergroup....
Oh hell no, they lifted the NDA about 10 days ago.
I have ... added to the Zombie School. Tomorrow I'll put up some extra pics. I swear, I only have 2 million out of 36 left, after doing this. heh. I should get an award. It's so killer.
Nice of them to tell us on the EU side of things... *grumbles* After all my friends have been poking me for information... *bounds off to take screenshots galore*
Wow, that sucks! You might check the eu boards, I know that the USA nda was lifted, it's possible (but very very unlikely) that they didn't lift the eu version. I doubt it though because the beta's gone open anyway...
It's not like you couldn't go on the usa boards and find everything while you're in europe anyway so I can't see them having two separate nda dates.
I made *the* most expensive lair I could, and I soooo want to take people on tours of it lol! I'm thinking of making a toon called 'I want to tour your base' and get screenies of what others have made, jump from sg to sg.
Well, they have been a lot fairer to the US beta testers than the EU ones. Most of our play sessions either got cancelled or the servers crashed every five minutes. And when you guys got weekend test sessions, we got "Sorry, but the play session for Monday, Thursday and Friday have been cancelled." I stopped reading the forums because all the whining and complaining about it was bugging me. Sure, I was annoyed, but I failed to see the point of 47 pages worth of complaints about it...
Now that the servers are up 24/7 and they've fixed the stability problems, it's much better. I'd get screenies of our lair, but it's an embarrassment, it really is. The guy who built it is this dude we've been playing CoH with since last April, and he's cool and all, but has no idea how to build a base... When it all goes live, we'll do better. Like... the rest of us won't let him design the lair...
You so should make 'I want to tour your base' and go SG jumping to view various lairs. That would be pretty cool. It could also be used for evil, since you could learn layouts and then go raiding those lairs... I mean, it is City of VILLAINS after all!
lol - Yup, but of course this is more like "I want to tour your temporary very cool lairs because we all know it'll be too hard to get this kind of character prestige to make them this nice in the real game" lol!
The stability is much better now, even just with the last tiny patch done. I was SOOO sad that I didn't get to do the big statesman/arachnos pvp event on saturday because I was at my friend's party...
I didn't even try to get into that. The lag would have been too bad. I'm rather annoyed, actually; they promised that we wouldn't have to upgrade our computers in order to play CoV, but I've had to buy some more RAM to make it playable. Not that it cost a huge amount, but it's the principle of the thing, really...
Pardon my intrusion but what's this "City of Villains" you're talking about? Some sort of online game??
When lost, turn around... You prolly just walked in a circle.

http://www.cityofvillains.com and http://www.cityofheroes.com they're mmo games, my first (and only). it's the only superhero based massively multiplayer online game (right now, but marvel's will SUCK believe me) and it's really really fun.
Hummm... I'll have to check it out some time. Prolly not on this old piece of antiquity though... My comp is very crabby and fussy, and with dialup, a lot of games are iffy at best. Right now it's a trial just to play Furcadia with out freezes and lock-ups. *whines*

You'd never get CoV running, then... it struggles on mine, and my computer is GOOD. So much for the dev's saying "you won't have to upgrade your computers for CoV; if it can play CoH it can cope with CoV." Hah! Mine runs CoH perfectly!
You could try moving some of the details down, like particle count and the anti-aliasing thing and such. There are like 3 new visual items that you could change to get better results.
Plus, if you're talking about Beta, no one's ran perfectly. Try it when it goes live, I bet you'll have better results. Besides... a lot of those things will wind up in coh sooner or later.
... I keep having city of villains dreams. Oh yeah, that's because I kept playing until the beta ended and then jumped straight back to coh....
I know a guy who it ran perfectly for. His computer is way better than mine, though.
I've got it set now so that it runs decently as long as I'm in a mission... in the main areas it's just too slow, probably because there's so many people around.
I actually stopped playing CoH a few months ago... just about everyone in the SG with me left and started playing WoW, and those of us remaining sorta lost heart after that. It's really not so fun without the people you're used to playing with... I stopped playing with strangers because my blaster was so squishy and relied heavily on having a team that worked well with my tactics... My blaster filled a very specific niche in the SG; with a good team, he's fantastic, with a bad team, he's debt city...
So whether CoV will be fun or not, I dunno. If it runs decently in the final version, then I'll give it a go. Just concerned that it's gonna be too similar to CoH to really be fun... *shrugs* We'll see.
Well, the engine is essentially a refined version. In many ways it's the same game, however the look and feel are a bit different.
Missions can be randomly generated, now, so you use a newspaper to fill in gaps before getting a story arc from a Broker (contact). New opponents, and the art is *drool*. The interior sets are largely the same maps but with extras and they're *clearly* random this time not *sorta* random like in coh. The flavor text (while still riddled with bad spelling and poor grammar) is fantastic and vastly better than coh. It just seems to have far more personality and depth to it - even at the same time I'm really hoping they add more "actual content". It's largely the same thing only 'better'.
It's like the difference between plain old storebought powdered sugar, and true confectioner's sugar. It's the same thing, but it's just 'more'.
Heehee...nice base Shard - this is what we have for Mage Circle so far. Bf helped and I gave permission to his roomate to worry about the nesacary stuff (like energy, ect) because he knows more about it. Has his own (inherited) SG - cheater. Anyway...We have three rooms that at least look pretty!
Also added some screen captures that I've taken that I thought were amusing. Like the Evil Segarra and my mastermind, Dezerak who names his zombies after the good guys that actually defeated him in the book...heehee. Or the poor guy that got disconected and came back to find we had filled his spot and stood glaring at the door. That must have been horrible. Or the floating guy and my bf's character greving over the fallen Ilnavia, my drow elf...
Sweet - I so love the Pocket D. That's the Shadow Shard, where you go when you're bored and want to drift along in complete solitude (because no one is there) when you're around level 41...
Oh - I should put up some of my new base, too - my pirate girl, Pie Ratt Chick, I just slapped down 16 thousand in *stuff* to decorate the *entrance*. It's got a faintly nautical feel. Okay, well it's got an arcane/sewer feel but whatever, it has a mast and gangplanks on the walls... heh.
