Maps

So... I've been thinking I'd like a map of Mirus, since I'm beginning to develop a lot of different locations, and I want somewhere to put them... But I can't draw maps very well...

Does anybody know any decent map generators or something? Or any hints for drawing nice maps, that's good too...

Actual 'map' maps or 'world' maps? I strongly recommend Fractal Terrains for the world map and globe style stuffs. There are a variety of fairly bad to mediocre mapmaking programs out there that do randoms or simple editing. Good mapping programs are hard to come by and unfortunately not cheap. I have Campaign Cartographer but I hate it. It's a cad program and I can't use those to save my life...

I was thinking a world map, but I'd like to be able to include the location of all the cities, and rivers, stuff like that. Maybe even different terrain types... But I'm not sure anything like that exists...

Where can I find Fractal Terrains; is there a place I can download it from?

I draw maps for my stuff all the time... I like to think I'm halfway decent at it XD I have some more examples on my PC at home which I'll show you when I get home, but for now:

...an example of one of mine :D It's actually simpler than the maps I usually make, and the coloring is pretty poo because I had to keep it a GIF. If you like it, I can help you out and make a map for you... and it'll look better XD

Hmm...I can draw maps too, but it would take me a little time and lots of description/interaction.

You can obviously use it to outline and hand-draw political maps. I can randomly generate stuff if you want to see it, I've done that a number of times.

As for hand-drawing political maps I'm so shit at that I don't even bother.

The only maps I've ever really kept up is my Zekiran world map, and the Otherforest, and they're so rudimentary.

Depends on what you want... Here are a couple of examples of what I can do if you told me what you wanted...

Is an example of a specific Town/Village map.

If either style is something you're interested in, I'd be willing to talk it over. ^_^
Either style might take a while to do though so keep that in mind.

Forgot to mention both of those were hand done and touched up on the comp using PaintShop Pro 6.
But I can do one strictly on the comp or strictly by hand. The comp style would be quicker but less like a "real" map than a hand done one.
