ABOUT NIDUS INSULA
Basics

Nidus Insula is a fictional setting that is part of a ring of dragon adoption websites known as the Nexus. Occasionally, new clutches of dragons will arise from the residents at this location, which will either be listed here under "clutches" or given away on the Nexus discord community.

The residents of Nidus Insula belong to Dray and were drawn by the creators listed under each image. If you'd like your own, I recommend joining the discord to watch for new clutches from our entire community. You'll need a website, forum, or other free and accessible space to showcase your characters and dragons. Some clutches also require you to write stories for the characters you submit to bond a dragon.

If you're looking to adopt a dragon from an open clutch at Nidus Insula, please read the rules first. You will usually need a character who can bond (telepathically join with the hatchling dragon as a partner for life) or a sponsor (help to raise the hatchling until they're old enough to go their own way) to bond a dragon from this location.

The Nidus

Nidus Insula is composed of at least a dozen smaller islands clustered around and between the largest island-- where the bulk of the Nidus makes its home base-- and the mainland to the east. Only the main island contains a low mountain range. The rest have steep slopes that drop into the sea, and a few have sandy shores, but most have sheer rock beaches or pebbly spits that are not comfortable for humans. This makes the Nidus a comfortable location for unbonded creatures. The water between the islands is, of course, a good home for sea dragons, and this is why Nidus Insula has the most sentient aquatic residents of any of the Niduses.

Inland of this village is a stretch of open land many kilometers square, running mostly south to north. It has been staked out by a few different dragons, most of which are wingless in some way. The mountain peak has been deemed the 'aerie', and most of the Nidus' gryphons and gryphon-like beings live in a loose flock, here. South and west of the main island, a deep ocean trench and open waters host some of the Nidus' deep-water residents.

  1. Main Island, Esa. Esa (pronounced EE-sah) is home to most of the Nidus' humanoid population, supporting a village of exiled water benders in its main, east-facing cove on the northern stretch, and along with a village of residents from all over the rest of the Nexus.
