| Appearance: |
Yarner is a plump young man with curly brown hair and darkly tanned skin. He has wide ears with simple river-pearl studs in both lobes, a scanty beard that he's much too proud of, and a wide, warm, welcoming face rarely crooked with strong emotions. He loves his homespun and his suspenders, and has a prized embroidered, beaded overcoat that he labours to keep in perfect condition. Unlike most of his kind, he likes wearing simple heels that help raise his height just a little bit. He's overall a showy fellow for his kind, a little 'froofy' at first glance, but friendly and open.

Yarner never entirely fit in with his family; his bloodline are known for their meads and ciders, and therefor many of them spend their time tending bees, gardening, and picking apples. Yarner was so named because even as a child, he enjoyed playing with balls of yarn, and as he grew to a child he began weaving and knitting and picking up gossip from the granny-circles that he was drawn to joining. He learned his sense of humour from them and wound up exchanging little performances for them in exchange for their acceptance to learn their well-honed crafts.
As he grew older and was expected to take on more family responsibilities, he began to really chafe at his life. He likes both fabric craft and performance arts, and there wasn't much of that to be had in the wider circles of his home, at least not for a strong young man. He took to signing up for days taking barrels to market, the more to scout out his inevitable escape.
He eventually stumbled into a shifty looking halfling who called himself Railyd, who in turn was looking for what he called 'hosts'. When Yarner was introduced to a real, live, dragon he nearly died of fright. When he recovered his wits, however, he came around to the idea of seeing a larger world. He's joined Railyd for an adventure or two, though whether or not he's fully ready to be bonded to a dragon of his own is not certain.
