Yajaz is a dark grey, heavily furred wolf-faced humanoid, from a species of anthropomorphic folk called wolves. Because of her heavy fur, she wears relatively little unless modesty demands it. She'll wear nicely tailored skirts, and when she's in formal situations she will deck her foreclaws with caps of copper. Day-to-day, she has a tattered left ear that she also decks with a couple of metal piercings, and she wears several braided leather necklaces and bracelets, each with tokens of special kills or mementos from important moments.

Yajaz came to Nidus Descendi in the spirit of exploration. As a young woman (wolvs age much more quickly than humans, reaching adulthood often around ten years) she wasn't sure where her place was, and was searching for ways to distinguish herself. Her cousin, Kalnaz, helped her out of her funk and brought her to Descendi to help make her way. Originally, she was hoping to bond a majestic dragon, but when Yalnask presented herself, Yajaz realized what love at first sight felt like. She and Yajaz are training up to join Descendi's small ranks of distinguished Wher-keepers, and Yajaz occasionally takes leave with her bond to visit home and give Yajask additional training in how wolv-folk do their own tracking and living.
In fact, Yajaz has been instrumental in helping some of the older wher-keepers learn better practices in working in the field, whether that be above or below ground. She's been helping the humans who come from cultures that rely more heavily on controlled environments learn to cope with-- and thrive in-- the chaotic environment of wild nature.

Yajask is a hopeful creature who has been influenced from a young age by her bond's adventurous and positive nature. She's eager to meet new people and to explore, though she still possesses fierce loyalty and an urge to protect what is hers. This has worked out well so far, in that Yajaz gives her wide range and a lot of enrichment, and is extroverted enough to be fueled by meeting new people (and by dint of being very frequently with Yajask, the wher meeting new people as well). In this way, Yajask is in a prime position to be a shining example of what Descendi whers can be: loyal community supporters who get to know each and every one of 'their' people, and to help ensure that they remain safe from outside dangers. |
