Cheerful but somewhat self-serving, Xanthe is manipulative and can make it difficult for others to determine whether she has amiable intentions for the sake of making friends... or if she has other reasons that she may reveal in time. She doesn't often find reason to betray others, though if there is enough profit in it for her (and this may mean status advancement, rather then pure material gain) she may just do it. On the other hand she is willing to help others with information she has gathered, and is sometimes generous to those who are less fortunate than her. Because she is somewhat fickle, others can't depend on her to be helpful all the time.

Sly and riddlesome, Quillion delights in never saying exactly what he means, but in anticipating the needs of his partner and giving them all the clues they need, should the provide to be intelligent enough to piece things together. He doesn't make a lot of friends because of this, save for a small following of obsessive intellectuals who treat him as something of a game. To be fair, Quillion fully endorses their patronage and will go so far as to set puzzles up around the village to give them more of a challenge.
