Feseron has dark skin, though not quite so ebon as his father, Fesselex's. His hair is relatively short, though the tight black curls are given freedom to poof up near the top. He's proving to be a big boy as he grows, but he's got a lot more baby-face than his parents did at his age. He might grow out of it by the time he reaches full adulthood.
Fes' mostly wears hand-me-downs from others that fit his frame, not being very fussed with his appearance. He wears a leather band wrapped several times around one arm, a piece of riding harness from his birth-mother who didn't come to the Nidus with his father.

Feseron doesn't remember much about Danach, but he's still close with his father even if he lives among non-dragon-riders in the lee of the Nidus' mountain slopes. He hears stories of terrifying, massive-sized ants burrowing up to snatch people from their homes, and thinks how alike they are to the rumours of xenodragons who do the same from the neighbouring Arx. It makes him (pun unintended) antsy, so much of his childhood has been about playing rough with the other kids to stay tough against the threat of being kidnapped.
Not that he's really in any danger, at the heart of Nidus Descendi's territory... but he's probably always going to be a little watchful and ready for a fight. Despite that, he's made good friends with the other kids his age, and he one day hopes to bond a dragon who's as tough as he believes he is.

Fesk is a highly social creature who has joined in with a rare small contingent of wher and part-wher creatures at Nidus Descendi. Because many of the riders at Descendi come from Pern, there is not a small faction that look down on him, but an equal proportion have no conditioning on dragon superiority, and can accept Fesk, Feseron, and the others in the ground-unit with perfect respect.
Regardless of bias, Fesk is far from foolish. He has a developed personality and the fully sapient ability to communicate his wants and needs with Feseron, as well as his opinions. He is very quick on the draw, and enjoys working with others on what's becoming known as the 'ground crew' as they learn to patrol the tunnels and hidden ways that wings of overhead dragons might miss. Because the lands around and under Descendi are riddled with cave systems, it is crucial that the ground crew work well together, and Fesk has the makings of a good leader, though he is still young enough that he mostly bosses and cajoles his compatriots around. |
