Jewelwing Magic

All jewelwing creatures are incredibly powerful in their magic, and even the weakest of them is a match for ANY human wizard. There seems to be no limit to what their magic can do, though it is rarely used maliciously.

As a young grub, the then-called Ember was pretty spazzy, always on the lookout for something to eat. He was forever crawling up sleeves and down pant-legs and startling whoever it was he'd decided to climb upon, hoping to get fed after acquiring their attention.

Having aged and matured in the cradle of his chrysalis and taken the name Fire Opal Flames of the Void (following traditional jewelwing naming conventions) he has mellowed in personality, if not in color! It is Tehani who is now the lively one of the pair, while Flames prefers to lie in calm repose and "watch over" his pan-thar companion. He is incredibly intelligent, as all members of his species are, and despite his magical nature is showing a surprising aptitude for the genetics that are Tehani's forte. He enjoys sitting on her shoulder and reading along as she pours over one text or another, and then having a very serious discussion of the subject matter with her.

He and Tehani's mate, Shihon, get along well, being rather similar in demeanor.
