Though fiery of coloration and ability, Phlegethon is an often gentlemanly Whorling who'd much rather befriend anyone he Chooses than whisk them off unwillingly -- though he'll still do it if he has to. It has nothing to do with morals or politeness, however. He just hates the taste of his paralyzing venom. A person can be genteel without being good, after all. Just look at Hannibal Lecter.
