Ursine Construct Four-Eighty-Two is who was brought back. Although he was whisked away without warning, knocked unconscious without ever realizing he was being stalked, he is now perfectly content aboard the Fate. He is a very sedate creature, gentle despite his hulking appearance and with no love lost for the war-torn world he was stolen from. Though he slightly dislikes fighting (when free of his bloodlust), he draws satisfaction from taking and completing orders as efficiently as possible, and is at ease with his new role as a security guard (and lab-rat). Hunting down the occasional trespasser and troublemaker (and submitting peaceably to the occasional test) is a far more preferable job to charging onto a battlefield day after day.

On his own time, Four-Eighty-Two is often found basking in the artificial sunlight of the recreational caverns--both the ones reserved for the populace of the ship, and the single cavern available to candidates. With a lack of any other hobbies or interests, he has turned into something of a people-watcher. Social skills are mostly beyond him, as he is decidedly uncurious and always took orders rather than giving them, but should someone stop to speak to him, he is a tireless listener. Not even the driest of scholars could bore him with their ramblings.

Gordonth Freeborn often joins him in companionable silence.

• Endurance: A natural ability, Four-Eighty-Two has much higher physical endurance than most creatures.
• Magic Resistance: Four-Eighty-Two has a mild magic resistance, protecting him from weak spells and minor magical crossfire.
• Pain Tolerance: A natural ability, Four-Eighty-Two has an extremely high tolerance for pain.
• Psionic Resistance: Four-Eighty-Two has a mild resistance to psionics, enough to shield him from unpracticed and weak psionicists.
• Verbal Speech: The ability to communicate in spoken words.
