Defenseless and innocent, she is a seeress who sees souls and fates the way that her bond sees things of the material world, yet she does not comprehend half of the things she sees. She can recite her visions with painstaking -- if sometimes riddling -- accuracy, even if she speaks of the blackest and most perverse pits of hell, but she is not corrupted or besmirched by what she sees.
Her effect on Ouros's behavior is nothing short of astounding. When Alethia is in his company, Ouros has little attention to spare for anyone but her, and dotes upon her with the sort of love and affection whose gentilities are absent from his everyday behavior. |
