A desert's a mighty curious place to take up cat-rearing, but it hasn't stopped Aro or Dicentra none! Although it's more official name is "The Devil's Loft", the Nidus residents more often associate all the winged cats roaming the mountain with cats than pigeons, and as such "cattery" has become much more common to reference the establishment where the felines' caretakers tend to them when they come back to roost at night. The winged cats of Cattery Caeligenus are treated simultaneously as a study in genetics, a breeding program for species preservation, and maintaining a population of animals that -- generally speaking -- help keep the mountain vermin-free. The fact that many of them enjoy a good scritch around the ears or behind their wing-shoulders doesn't hurt their popularity, either!

The cattery is also OPEN to trading cats with other Lofts, though there may be a delay to get a litter or two out of them first if they fit a breeding goal! |

As it happens, Dr. Schroeder's favorite variety of cat is the calico. As a lighthearted sort of thank-you for everything he did to get the Nidus established, the cattery caretakers are attempting to breed a calico-type winged cat, which they hope to call the Caeligenus Calico, or "Caelico"! | ||||||||

All genes from the Pattern Series are acceptable, as are the white pattern modifiers Tiger Grizzle, Baldheaded, or Toy Stencil. Anything else will disqualify the winged cat from being considered a Caelico. | ||||||||
|
As only males can show codominant colors, female Caelicos may only be Orange or Black, but are expected to show all other traits. |
