Though she occasionally aids Archimedes in his crafting jobs, Scion primarily acts as a translator for the insect anthropomorph. Though he understands all the common tongues of the Nexus with perfect fluency, he cannot speak anything but insectoid tongues, so its Scion's task to translate anything Archimedes says into a language his customers can understand (if they can't understand him on their own). Her personal databases hold a store of all the tongues and dialects used throughout the Nexus, and she is also equipped with powerful Telaparts so that she can listen to telepathic speakers, though the increased strength of her receptors means she cannot broadcast imitation telepathy at all.

Scion is an IDH-model cyborbot built by Archimedes' own mechanical hands, customized only slightly. Instead of the standard silver chrome, the plating that covers her spherical body is coppery in colour, though her sensor 'eye' is the standard blue, as is her external lumi-wiring. When extended, five of her six manipulation tentacles end in four-part claws, while the sixth bears a small welding torch.

Being a Class A AI, Scion's personality is completely self-developed. Affecting a female persona, Scion is witty, wily, and completely insubordinate -- you can't order her to do anything. If you want her to do something, you'd better ask nicely or she'll treat you just as rudely as you treated her. Worse, even. She's as fiery as the stereotypical redhead that her copper hull alludes to, and is fiercely protective of Archimedes -- she is frequently compared to a possessive girlfriend. Though not truly malicious, patrons of Archimedes' workshop had best beware her proud and often condescending manner, and do their best to not let her get under their skin.
