Elaeg's family are long-time residents of the Mountain Clan, and one of the richer ones, too. She has enough older siblings that she was pretty much left to her own devices as far as her interests go, and she was interested in blacksmithing from a young age. She apprenticed to an older blacksmith who taught her how to use spells to ease the forging of weapons, many of which are used as focuses. She is a friend of Hallan's and decided to leave Silefaer Isle with him for many of the same reasons--learning more of her craft from different cultures.
