To call Grimaldi dark and morbid is most certainly true. Though at times he may sound like a pessimist, he would assure you he is merely a realist, albeit one with a skewed and twisted view of the world, life, and death. He finds death to be a thing of beauty, a transformation to a greater end that the majority of the world is sadly blind to.
Grimaldi is an opportunistic murderer, believing it is his duty -- not by any sort of law or god-given direction, but simply by charity -- to usher people through death so they can reach the joyful end they don't realize awaits them on the other side.
