Personality:

Foxes are strange allies in the struggle against the forest, long shaped by generations living beneath the Blightstorm's rain. Their kind has grown symbiotic with the Blight that blooms under the magic rain, and many settlements value them for that very reason. Caedrin is most often found beside the Ancient Hearth of whatever settlement they currently call home, tending the ritual fires that help calm the forest's rising hostility. His presence there is steady and unhurried, the sort of quiet patience that seems to slow the room around him as he feeds the flames with careful attention.

Despite the calm he brings to the Hearth, not everyone is comfortable with a Blight-eyed Fox being trusted with the fire that keeps them alive. Suspicion follows him easily, sometimes spoken openly and sometimes whispered when they think he cannot hear -- but Caedrin is aware of all of it. Remarks like Thithox's blunt distrust are not uncommon, and while Caedrin rarely shows anger, neither does he make much effort to reassure those who doubt him.

Instead, Caedrin answers suspicion with sharp humor. His wit is quick, dry, and fond of turning someone's own doubts back on them with a sly grin. Predictably, this habit resolves very little and tends to incite arguments that might otherwise have faded away. Caedrin seems perfectly content with that outcome. In his view, people reveal themselves in first impressions, and he responds the same: kindness for kindness, and mischief for the rest.
