"An aquatic Court?" Xiao Shy looked up with intrigue plain in his bright green eyes as this information was delivered.

Aptonym, the sweetest and quietest of the three Projects that their mutual creator had 'guided' into Xiao Shy's entourage, nodded gently. "At Lantessama Isle," he repeated, calling attention to that particular fact once again.

"And the Courts continue to change and diverge," mused the miniature Shy, picking up a small tea sandwich from one of his many ever-present trays of treats and nibbling at it as he thought. "We're not equipped for anything properly aquatic just yet. Fetch Euonym. We'll have to make some expansions."

Aptonym bowed his head deferentially, stepping backwards to excuse himself from the room that quietly hummed and thrummed around their small, crimson-clad master. Peeping monitors dutifully displayed their data as it was relayed to them from sensors attached to all manner of flasks, pods, and chambers situated in Xiao Shy's rapidly expanding laboratory. It was not The Labs but was something smaller, new, and burgeoning.

Xiao Shy was bespoke, made in his Father-Creator's image, and the compulsion to create in turn had finally taken him. So what, then, to adjust and finish and send Lantessama's way? He picked up another sandwich and set about making a choice.

Amphibious

The ability to live both on dry land or underwater without assistance, including breathing either air or water as necessary.

Glamour

The ability to make others see what they wish to see, including not seeing what they would not wish to see. A kind of passive and permanent illusion, it cannot be dispelled, but others may be able to sense or 'see through' it depending on skills or magics of their own. In short, Waratah's appearance will seem to change depending on the setting she finds herself in so that she never appears unusual. (And if a tentacle-legged merperson would not be strange in the first place, then there will be no apparent changes at all!)

Waratah physically resembles a human with deep red skin, darker red hair, and eight octopus-like tentacles in place of legs. She doesn't often wear much, but likes to experiment with accessories that play to her semiaquatic nature, and can often be seen checking her reflection in a clamshell-like mirror. She can use this shell to see what other people perceive of her glamour, which she cannot see on her own otherwise.

Coy and precocious, meeting Waratah does not come with any clues that she is a fresh young project from a scientific gourmand following in his father-creator's footsteps. She has all the wits and wiles of a woman who has existed in the world for twenty or thirty years, though that's not to say she isn't intrigued by all the Nexus that exists to explore. She just hides her inexperience well with a quick mind and ability to adapt and improvise.

Her purpose? Stand at the clutch for the new Lantessama-born Court, whatever it may prove to be, and bring it home to Xiao Shy's Crimson Court. (That's 'court' in the entourage sense, and not a Vella Crean draconic grouping.) Beyond that, she's quite free to do whatever she may like, which includes supporting whatever the demeanor of her future Court bond may be.

No one is stopping to think that Waratah might not bond, after all, herself included. A Purpose is not a mere goal or dream, something one hopes for. A Purpose is the reason one exists, and in having her Purpose, Waratah is confident in her existence.
