Personality:

Due to the circumstances of his birth, Malice has been a creature motivated by revenge. Not against the yautjadragon that killed his siblings, necessarily, though he wouldn't mind that at all if it came about, really... but against all other living things. He wants to see the whole of his kind, the Balespawn, rise to power in all worlds and dimensions. Granted, this is the biological imperative of all Balespawn, but in Malice it has a much more personal motivation than that.

He is very loyal and very attached to his family as a whole, with a genuine affection that craves their company and kinship. Even upon meeting a fellow Balespawn for the first time, Malice defies his namesake and is wholly welcoming, eager to help and support them. The hive-based mindset of a true xenodragon was neither bred nor corrupted out of him, so he is happiest when near to others like him. This includes the urge to procreate and build a hive of his own, complete with a queen -- or queens -- for him to dote upon and protect.

Biography:

Malice was the last of his clutch to hatch and this is what saved his life. His older siblings, of which there were ten, were slaughtered by a yautjadragon that had found his mother's nesting site before he had even hatched. With so many young Balespawn to be slain, their hunter never suspected there was still an egg to be found.

When Naimhdeach found him in the aftermath, the only survivor of her first clutch, she delivered him to his grandmother-goddess -- as much as a gift as to ensure his further survival.
