Personality:

Corrupted so thoroughly that she is now an outcast from her own god, Alunes is both a furiously angry and horribly depressed creature. She hates Anathema with every fiber of her being, but serves the corrupt goddess because she has no other option. She cannot even die, for she is unforgivably Damned and the High One will never permit her soul entrance to the afterlife of the Supernals. To wander alone would be to leave herself vulnerable to anyone who would freely attack a beast as corrupt as herself, so she unhappily serves Anathema in exchange for the goddess's dubious protection. (It was, after all, Anathema herself that captured and so thoroughly fouled the Supernal!)

Alunes also hates herself almost as much as she hates the other balefire beasts she now associates with, as Anathema's commands have turned the once-Supernal into a murderer of the innocents she once strove to protect. Goaded by the threat of true death Anathema holds over her head, and too selfish and terrified to face an afterlife devoid of the High One, Alunes obeys the goddess's commands to kill others in order to prolong her own miserable existence.
