Shapeshifting (Runian)
The ability to shapeshift into a humanlike "Runian" form.

The ability to communicate in spoken words.
Description:

Lanky, large-pawed, and oversized, Fuego is a pup stretched into the body of a gawky adult. As a Fire Ruban, he has a vaguely draconic look about him. He walks on two long legs and has two shorter arms, carrying himself a bit like a dinosaurian raptor. His forepaws are actually hands, though his fingers are short and rather stubby, tipped with long, sharp claws. He has a long neck and an even longer tail, with a scruff of messy brown hair at one end mirrored by a scraggly brown tuft of fur at the other. A short, stiff, zebra-like mane, also brown, continues from his hair down the length of his neck. His short, multicolored fur fades in colors like a fire, white on his belly, red on his back, with orange and yellow between. Two long slits are visible on his back between his shoulder blades; these are the openings to a special set of gas sacs, the contents of which ignite upon contact with air to grant him a pair of fire-jet wings that he is entirely capable of flying with. A pair of thin black spikes grows from each of his cheekbones, and warm grey eyes flank a sapphire blue gem set naturally in his forehead.

Just like Avengaean dragons, the Rubans of Rubara can naturally assume a humanoid shape, which they call their "Runian" form. More elflike than human, a Ruban's Runian form has extremely long, pointed ears, and dark markings on the face where the Ruban's cheek spikes and facial gem would normally be. Fuego has ruddy, somewhat orangey skin in his Runian form, marked with darker brown for his spike- and gem-spots, while his eyes and hair go unchanged. He is about six and a half feet tall in this shape, thin and long-limbed to the point where he almost seems to be a living caricature. His face is narrow and his nose is long and thin, though his eyes are large and rather puppyish, and his ears are comically oversized. His attire is simple, with a baggy dark red tunic cinched at the waist with a drawstring for his torso, loose brown slacks for his legs, and brown moccasins for his feet.

Personality:

The typical Fire Ruban is born clinically insane and often unpredictable as a result. Fuego is no different, though he's quite harmless and incredibly friendly. He merely remains in a very childlike state of mind despite his age, possessing rather simple and straightforward thought-processes. Fuego is pure-hearted and incapable of lying, and tends to take everything that's said to him as truth as well. He lives only to have fun in an incredibly simple sense, from chasing a butterfly around a field, to climbing a tree, to lying on a rock and sunbathing.

Ironically enough, Fuego is pyrophobic. Whenever he accidentally lets his wings flare, or has the poor luck to cast one of his innate fire spells, the result scares him to high heaven. He'll freely complain about how fire is "icky-bad" and "too much hot", and cringe away from something as minor as a match-flame. Conversely, he absolutely loves water. He can spend hours dabbling his paws in puddles to watch the ripples, and when he gets a chance to swim, he takes to the water like a fish, even if his swimming itself is far less natural.

His manner of speaking is patchy, his grammar is awful, and he has little concept of pronouns whatsoever -- he even refers to himself in the third person. He also has an odd habit of randomly sticking things into his mouth, which explains the always-ragged appearance of his tail tuft.
