Biography:

Throughout Farrux's childhood, one thing among many was always made clear: xenomorphs were not to be associated with. Her father was bonded to a man that could shift between xenomorph and human forms, and the two of them together made it very very clear that xenomorphs were not to be tolerated anywhere near their family.

As often happens with children, these repeated warnings fostered in Farrux a curiosity rather than a fear. Once she was old enough to strike out on her own, one of the first things she did was go investigating this species that was so poorly regarded. And everything she learned? Only fascinated her further, leaving her feeling like she'd been cheated out of incredible opportunities. She grew to resent her father and his bond for this. Not hate, nothing so strong as that, but definitely resentment for having been steered away from something she now found she very much wanted connection with.

She came to reside as an inhabitant of the Alveary specifically because of its high population of xenokind hybrids -- a proportion she means to see even further increased.

A Story in Short

"There's xenodragons at the Refugium!"

Farrux tore her frustrated scowling away from the sky in a hurry at those words. The Alveary was a pleasant enough place to live, for a desert settlement, but it certainly kept her working. Far, far down at her feet, a humanoid excitedly waved a datapad over their head at her.

"That cannot be right," Farrux snorted back, laying her ears back and stalwartly refusing to lower her head for a look. She was, in no way shape or form, going to try and peer at a screen that was smaller than a single one of her claws. "That would never be allowed. Father would throw a fit."

"Okay, well, they're actually on something called the Heimdall?" Phoenix amended, her long and spiky tail idly flicking behind her as she lowered the datapad and tapped at it with a carapace-covered hand. (Why she bothered assuming a half-human state at all when she could be something as elegant as a full xenomorph, Farrux had no idea, but at least she embraced her nature unlike certain self-hating bonds of her Father.) "The Heimdall hangs out near the Refugium I guess? Is docked there? Orbits?"

Well. That did lend somewhat more credence to the possibility, Farrux supposed. And none of the xeno-kind that lived around the Alveary had gotten to any breeding themselves, leaving Farrux still woefully devoid of her own hive of the beautiful creatures... the giant dragonness lowered herself to the sandy soil at last, crooking one foreleg up at the elbow in order to rest her chin on her paw and take some of the strain off of looking down at such a small being. "Alright. Go on."

Phoenix grinned, fingers swiping energetically over a screen Farrux could still never conceive of reading and answered, "Okay, so there's some clutch of xenodragons gestating the old-fashioned way alongside some foals of a unicorn-looking species that needs bonders too. Looks like some adults of the unicorn species are the hosts for the xenos. How much you want to be they come out looking like runners with horns? I bet they do!"

Farrux had little reason to care about the host species, she imagined. A xenodragon was a xenodragon, no matter the host. She drummed her toes against her chin and held back the urge to give Phoenix a poke. Farrux could have flattened the shifter under her palm with a single movement, such was their size difference, but... patience. Farrux was not good at patience, but this was the leader of her new home she was addressing.

"And they need bonders for the xenos?"

"They need bonders! For the xenos! You want to go? It's the first clutch for anything xeno-related I've had come up lately and I know you're desperate!"

"I am not desperate," Farrux scoffed, irritated to know she was rather exactly that. Xeno-kind everywhere around the Alveary and not a single one producing eggs! She lifted her chin from her paw and went for the poke after all -- to the backside of Phoenix's datapad. Even gently, the size disparity made her gesture enough to leave Phoenix stumbling a few steps, but the shifter just backpedaled like a pro and grinned as Farrux said, "Submit an application for me. You're going too, I presume?"

Phoenix was already tapping away. "Of course! Blindsight, too. She feels bad for the babies. Sounds like they're orphans. She might look a little xeno-y herself but she's really a lot more of an equine when you get down to it, so--"

"This is about my application, Phoenix. What information does it need? I'll dictate, you type."

"Of course, of course~"
