Belang is not incredibly magical, but she can muster some ability to manipulate water in its natural enviroment. This can help her swim faster or force away threats, for example.

In her Manflesh form, Belang is a plain woman, if powerfully built. Her physique is thick and heavy, mostly muscle, but with the chiseled angles of said muscle well padded with the human equivalent of whale blubber. Towering above many other humanoids and just as strong as she looks, her size and mass cut an imposing figure. Her features are ordinary, however, neither ugly nor beautiful. She has a strong jaw, rounded face, and small black eyes. Her short-cropped hair is black with white patches at her temples. This is transference of her Beastflesh colors, rather than the silvering of age.

Belang's Beastflesh form is that of an oversized orca, with pearly-white markings on an ink-black base. Her archetype form blends the two, turning her into a creature that most would refer to as anthropomorphic: orca-like features applied to a bulky, humanoid shape.

Belang is an independent woman who likes to have other people around, but not in her space. A coastal desert like the kind where the Alveary is settled may be viewed as a strange place for a whale-shifter to live, but it does offer plenty of said coastal ocean to swim in, and the Alveary itself is both very independent and protective of personal freedoms, providing a safe sanctuary for one such as her and her bonded. There's safety in numbers -- in a pod, if you will -- and Belang appreciates both being able to seek company when she wants it, and being able to retreat from it when she's had enough.

She has an aggressive streak when she feels like she or the things she cares about are being threatened, and will face such challenges head-on rather than flee from them now that she is someplace where she can successfully stand up for herself. When she comes into something by choice, she will not give it up without a fight.

A native of the world of Mythicalae, where Fleshshifters like her are simultaneously numerous and mistreated, Belang was whisked away from her clan at a young age to be "subjected" to bonding -- a kind of experiment she would rather not speak of. Thankfully, even a bonding she did not want to attend still exposed her to a like mind, and when her Bexez'Rodu was old enough to carry her, they fled their homeworld and escaped into the vast opportunities of the Nexus. Time and chance eventually brought them to the motley crew of the Alveary, where they found they fit in surprisingly well.

Though the Alveary is settled on a hot, arid world, its own stretch of shrubby desert borders the ocean and curls around a saltwater cove. Belang and Bexez'Rodu spend most of their time in and around its waters, and she has come to admit that it is a little more quiet than she likes under its waves. The land of the Alveary is thoroughly populated, but the cove? Absolutely empty aside from her and her bond. And so, they decide, this absolutely needs to be changed.
