Alternate Form (Akki Malakym)

The ability to shapeshift into an Akki-caste Malakym. This form is mostly humanlike, but in Akiyoshi's case also includes his spiraling horns, his serpentine tail, and the spikes at the end of it. The extra fluff vanishes, but instead the spikes now produce "akki red" poison, which can induce a coma in anyone struck by them.

Bioluminescence

The ability to glow with a red aura.

Bloodline Sense

The ability to sense others that are related to him, up to three generations away.

Breath Weapon (Fire)

The ability to breathe a gout of fire.

Seedling Reproduction

Every few years, Akiyoshi 's gemlike scales bloom into flowery structures. If they contract the pollen of another seedling-capable dragon, he could very well become "pregnant".

Superior Strength

Akiyoshi is far stronger than a dragon his size normally would be.

Telekinesis

The ability to move things with the mind.

Telepathy

The ability to communicate mind-to-mind.

Verbal Speech

The ability to communicate in spoken words.

Akiyoshi set his standard at the start, making his bond of Phoenix not only when she did not expect one, but by jumping onto her elongated head and declaring himself a "facehugger". He's a bit too larger for that particular maneuver nowadays, but he's still very playful and as spontaneous as he can get away with. Surprise hugs from his Malakym form are just as functional, after all!

Phoenix isn't the only one to have matured with age and the mysterious timeline of the drift, though. He's a functional adult, as the saying goes, and pulls his weight around the Alveary whenever necessary. A bit of arrogance in him is the fact that he perceives himself as the only "full" dragon among Phoenix's many bonds, and this sense of superiority comes out in "big brother knows best" sorts of actions and demeanor. He means no deliberate rudeness but nevertheless believes it his natural responsibility to take the lead among them, even compared to his bondmates who were bonded to Phoenix well before him.
