The ability to summon spirit-birds made of stormstuff.

The ability to communicate in spoken words.

Kind, sweet, and even angelic, Halcyon may be physically grown but remains possessed of a wide-eyed na�vet� and curiosity that wants to learn about everything he sees. He looks up to Doctor Schroeder for care and attention even now, not because he cannot take care of himself or is unwilling to, but because he is very attached to the man with filial devotion and is loyal to that bond. He rarely has a bad mood, and when he does, is the kind who quietly goes and sulks, rather than pitching a fit.

Hatched both after and because of a freak magical accident that sent his egg hundreds of years into the future, thrown forward from the time and place of his birth to appear blood-streaked on Doctor Schroeder's desk, Halcyon was raised by the man quite as if the young Dalake were his own son. Where most dragonkind of the Nexus are able to speak and be a degree of self-sufficient from birth, Halcyon (as Schroeder named him for his fortituous survival) was helpless and dependent on others for care, and as a result he is closer bonded to Schroeder than even some of the Destiny-born that also call the man 'Grandpa'.
